Chapter 93

“Atlas?” I gasped, instinctively placing my hands on either side of his face.

His skin was smooth and cold as ice, as pale as his glazed eyes. My fingertips ached as they grazed the stubble on his chin, and I swore I could see the faintest hint of steam.

I grasped the magic that made me what I was, and used the sun to build a small fire within my gut. I let that fire grow, fueling it with thoughts of Atlas. The magic felt different this time. There was the usual warmth of the sun…but, there was something else. It felt radiant and pure, and vastly similar to all four elements. It warmed my skin, giving it a golden glow that was in complete opposition with Atlas’s silvery shine.

“Can you hear me?” I whispered, keeping the palms of my hands flat against his face.

There was no change. If anything, he seemed more detached than before.
