Audacious

The claw scratching her nerve had Serenity's breath stuck in her throat.

She closed her eyes for a second, regretting her decision to step out of her comfort and safety zone by coming downstairs.

Her heart started to thump rapidly in her chest while her life remained at the mercy of the hostile party. Serenity opened her eyes and turned her head to smile at Janice.

"It has been a while. But that's no way to greet someone, right?" Serenity raised one of her eyebrows. If one noticed intently enough, the tremble in her voice wouldn't go unnoticed.

"Snooping around like a mutt? Do the rules need to made clear to you? Or are you perhaps trying to harm the pack?"

Serenity felt the sharp edge poke her delicate lifeline.

"There is no way a mere human like me can compare to a dog. I have weak senses. You, on other hand, as a werewolf must have really strong nose. I admire it," Serenity commented.
