“Flowers in your office? That too such an ugly arrangement? Isn’t that a first?” commented Richard. Although his tone was tinted with amusement, there was noticeable probing inside his words.

“I never thought you cared for the arrangements inside my office.” Kieran raised one of his eyebrows.

The corner of his lips curled up. “Indeed. But you are acting too oddly for me to not to, Alpha. You wanted Serenity out of the pack, but all of a sudden, you are silent about it. Why?”

Those grey blue eyes darkened as they narrowed on the Beta. “Are you ordering me to explain my decisions to you?”

Hiding a knife behind his smile, Richard responded, “Alpha, don’t you sound a little too defensive over a simple question?”

“Richard, it seems that you keep on forgetting your position. Do I have to resort to a harsher punishment, perhaps lock you up to get you to clear your head?”
