Chapter 63: Irresponsible

I suppressed a scoff at their overly pleased expressions. Though inwardly discontented, I refused to let it dictate my actions.

Taking a deep breath, I rose from my seat, mindful of the scrutinizing eyes upon me, and directed my attention to Zeeb. "Come with me," I instructed tersely.

Without waiting to observe Zeeb's undoubtedly complex expression, I pivoted and strode toward the corridor.

Even without looking back, I sensed the other Alphas' hesitation, likely considering the propriety of my departure without formal permission. Frankly, I couldn't care less.

As I walked towards the corridor, I detected no footsteps trailing behind me. Not until later, anyway.
