Chapter 13

Ashley's POV

I was still sleeping when my ears caught the sound of footsteps. My ears twitched and my eyes flung open.

Without wasting time, I sprang to my feet taking on a defensive poise. One of my fists was drawn back and the other held a jaw bone tightly.

I launched forward but my assailant dodged my attack, holding my wrists captive.

I raised my leg to plunge a kick into his chest but then his face came into view, he was the guy from last night. My leg fell limply and he held my wrists tighter as I steadied my gait.

"Are you dumb? You almost got yourself killed! You should have talked!" I yelled and jerked my hands out of his hold.

Hands in the air, he looked into my eyes and chuckled slightly before looking away.

"It's not funny… I mean, can't you talk? What you all know how to do is feast on others and ramble!" I yelled but he said nothing.

I dropped back to my corner angrily and he maintained his position, a few steps away from me.
