CHAPTER ELEVEN

Rosalind

A groan left my lips as I regained consciousness, my head throbbing wildly and my throat dry. I raised my hand to touch the side of my head, but it felt heavy, just like every part of my body.

The sound of beeping echoed in the room, and my still closed eyes furrowed in confusion. Where am I?

I racked my brain to remember the last events, and the only thing I could remember was being at Shawn’s party.

Then everything kept coming back to me. First I was at Shawn’s party, then that waiter…

James asked to see me then he disappeared into that hallway.

I couldn’t find him, and then…

I felt a pain in my head and that was it.

My eyes fluttered open and I was met with white walls and light, which proved too much to my sensitive eyes.

Hospital. I was in a hospital.

“She’s up. My Rosa is awake.” The familiar voice of my dad’s reached my ears and I sat up in the bed gently and a pair of hands helped me sit well.
