CHAPTER 12
Aaron and Jeanne nailed eyes for each other for a time out of mind.
Soon, Jeanne cleared her throat, trying to put an end to the staring game.
“Oh..” Aaron seemed startled.
He kept himself together and continued while clearing his throat as well,
“Sorry for the short notice. I know you must be feeling uncomfortable as I took your free time. But, this is an urgent matter and we cannot miss it as I am looking forward to you being part of it. I hope you understand the situation.“ Aaron explained to her.
Jeanne listened to the explanation meticulously and replied,
“I see. Well, I can be ready for it if you say so. But, may I know where we are going?“

Jeanne looked deep into his eyes. His eyes were already fixating on hers. 'Can I trust this man?' whispered Jeanne in her heart. Aaron tried hard not to laugh in front of Jeanne because of her actions. However, his mouth was still frozen when he saw Jeanne. Jeanne opened her eyes slowly after having a good sleep. Her eyes looked beside her and Aaron was not there. She grabbed her duvet from the sofa and walked to the balcony. She was enamoured by the sight of the vineyard. Sadly, the cold wind sent her back into the room. She turned around and... “Aaron?!“ Jeanne was shocked when suddenly Aaron came out from the bathroom with nothing on. She quickly turned her head to the opposite way. Aaron was also shocked to see Jeanne was already awake. He became a little bit flustered. He quickly grabbed his white bathrobe and put it on. “Good morning, Jeanne.“ Greeted Aaron while keeping his cool gesture even though he was still ashamed for appearing naked in front of Jeanne.

That morning, they both were sleeping safe and sound until the sun rays hit their faces. It was almost tea time when Aaron was finally awake. Aaron slowly opened his eyes. His view was blinded by the sun rays before the eyes were ready to accept the lights. Tiny specks of dust seemed to be dancing in the shaft of afternoon sunlight that slanted through the long windows. “Ah…. what a good sleep,” groaned Aaron. It had been some time that he had a wonderful sleep. He was sleeping deeply before the golden fingers of the sunlight disturbed him. “What happened?” Asked Jeanne curiously after Aaron and Albert finished their intense conversation behind her. “The marketing team decided to pull back from this project,” explained Albert calmly. Jeanne was so shocked with the news. “Why so sudden?” “We are not sure.” Aaron then said, “Albert, please inform them that I will go to Paris by myself to sort this out. However, Jeanne did not feel disappointed because she knew what was his priority. She woke up towards Aaron and gave him a back hug and a sensual kiss on the neck. After almost an hour of an intense phone call, finally Aaron ended the call. His head felt so miserable. Miserable with work, and miserable with his relationship. He was about to finish Jeanne but this fucking call messed everything up. Aaron took a deep breath before going into the room. Deep in his heart, he was still hoping that Jeanne will still be on the countertop but he also realized that it might not be happening because the call already swayed the mood. He pushed the door slowly and saw the room was in dim light. His eyes caught Jeanne sleeping peacefully and comfortably on the bed. Aaron went to her. “We have safely arrived,” said the captain calmly. While waiting for the jet taxiing to the hangar, Jeanne suddenly noticed that the female cabin crew kept staring at Aaron tensely. Jeanne started to feel uneasy with the cabin crew's reaction but she decided to let it slide. Once the jet stopped, the female cabin crew quickly stood up and opened the door.
