All through the morning until a little past noon, Mara had been working on the castle. Not just working, she put everyone around whom she could get, including Sebastian himself, to work. Wonder how she even managed to pull off that extraordinary feat. Mara had not forgotten their last conversation, and she was more than willing to make it happen as it had been said. Sebastian had made it clear that he would help no one, which was final. Mara was no quitter. She sure did have her ways which she learned from her mother back in the day. The memory hurt, but it was time to put it into practice. She vividly recalled things the woman would do to get Caelum to work and how despite his not approving such tasks, he eventually ended up doing it. It was a way of making a threat with such sweetness that it sounded more lethal than an actual threat. Trust me, Waylan was not left out of the entire process. Because his entire pack had been killed, Waylan was more than willing to stay with them.
