Walking In On Her

Clovis left her to her device after listing all the rules. She was practically on her own now. She would have to cook her food as well. She shot a glance at the clay stove and tried to remember when was the last time she had cooked.

Having nothing to do, she remained glued to the small window all day long and watched people coming and going out of Hadar's house. It was clear they all had come to have an audience with the Hadar.

Luckily, she didn't have to cook dinner as a celebration was organized by the villagers in honor of their Hadar. She had no interest in attending the celebration, not that she was invited. Clovis had told her earlier that he would have someone bring her dinner to her.

The night here arrived earlier than in the city. She could hear the uproarious beat of drums and some women singing a folk song to it from her small cottage. The celebration had started. A bout of laughter followed soon. She heard it all leaning against her window while reflecting on her
