11. Turning Manners

After the not so eventful meeting was over, everyone left the conference room. I was also about to head out when I heard Mr. Johnson's voice from behind me. "Miss. Martin, wait."

I turned back. His face was still covered but I could feel his piercing gazes on me and his arms were crossed over his chest.

I avoided his gaze and looked down. “Yes, sir?” Suddenly I found the marble floor really interesting.

He walked closer to me. “Miss. Martin, will you mind telling me what exactly happened during the meeting?” His voice was demanding. He was not only asking this to me, he had made sure I had no escape from there till I answered him.

"I… I… I have no idea what you’re asking about.” My gazes were still fixed on the floor and I stuttered unwillingly.

“Miss. Martin, I know you’re not as dumb as you’re trying to show yourself. So, tell me what’s wrong?” He gritted his teeth and I knew he was getting irritated.
