Chapter 4

But Gama's handsome face was still in her mind.

Sierra leaned her head on the desk hard, feeling annoyed and frustrated at being unable to forget Gama's face.

Behind the closed door, Gama heard Sierra's words and smiled happily, although she felt guilty for giving Sierra false hope.

"I'm sorry, Sierra. Maybe there is a better time. Wait until you love me," Gama thought.

The next day, an urgent order from Sierra made Gama respond quickly, rushing to get the file from Sierra's desk and delivering it to the office.

Audie who saw Gama, "Where are you going?" he asked in a high tone and sharp gaze.

"I'm going to Sierra's office, ma'am. Sierra left her files with me, and I need to deliver them immediately," Gama explained.

"Files? Files on the Featherston Group partnership?" Audie asked again,

"Featherston?" Gama quickly checked. His lips smiled at that, and a plan came to mind.

"Gama, why are you silent?" The question surprised Gama.

"Ha? Yes, ma'am. Right." he replied nervously.

"Then hurry up; this is important; you will be held responsible if you are slow and make Sierra's work fail. Do you understand, Gama?"

"Yes, ma'am," Gama replied briefly.

"Then go, why are you still here?" Audie's rhetorical question signalled the end of the brief interaction.

Gama, understanding the gravity of the situation, nodded again and left.

But before Gama left, he called Lopiuy.

"Lopiuy, is the company working on a project?"

"Yes, young master."

"Good, my wife is coming. Do you know what to do?"

 "Yes, young master, I understand."

"Good, I'm trusting you with this." Gama hung up the phone and rushed to the office on his electric bike.

Arriving at the office, Gama saw a car that he recognized as belonging to Jordan, a CEO at the Lowe's group of companies, the person his father-in-law, Audie, wanted as a son-in-law because of his high position.

Gama was curious; he rushed inside, determined to find Jordan and understand the reason for his presence.

Gama kept walking, ignoring the stares of every staff working in Maheswara's company.

After arriving at Sierra's office, Gama heard Jordan's voice talking to Sierra.

"Are you sure you can work with Featherston?" Jordan asked in a dismissive tone.

A confident female voice replied, "Of course, I have all the paperwork ready, and you won't be able to stop me."

Jordan replied in a dismissive tone, "Sierra, Sierra, why are you trying to pursue a contract when you got everything just by marrying me." Sierra's arrogant attitude made Gama even angrier and forced him to intervene.

However, Gama's steps were halted again when she heard Sierra's defiant words, "Don't brag, Jordan. You can take pride in working with Featherston's company and assume that you'll be working with them again this time. Luck can favour anyone, including me." Sierra said confidently.

"Yes, yes, yes. We'll see who wins, me or you. If I win, you have to leave that jerk and marry me; how about it?"

Sierra was surprised to hear that and looked at Jordan angrily. She was about to utter words of refusal, but suddenly Gama appeared.

"I accept your challenge, Jordan!" Gama replied firmly and confidently.

"Gama, what are you saying? Don't be crazy!" Sierra looked angry.

"But if Sierra gets this project, you leave and never bother Sierra again!" Gama spoke again in a high tone, ignoring Sierra's words.

Jordan, who was happy with Gama's decision, clapped her hands. "Good decision; I like it a lot." He approached Gama and patted Gama's shoulder. Then, Jordan looked back at Sierra.

"Sierra, you heard it yourself, so get ready. We're going to get married and honeymoon in the most romantic place in the world," Jordan said, but there was no response.

Finally, Jordan walked away with a confident smile, leaving Sierra still angry with Gama's decision.

"Gama, what are you doing? If you want a divorce, why do it this way? You want to embarrass me?" Sierra expressed her disappointment.

Gama approached Sierra and took her hand. "Because I don't doubt your ability at all, Sierra. I'm sure you can get this project," she said confidently.

"I had doubts about whether I could get this project, but you have so much faith in me; what if I fail?" Sierra's gaze showed doubt.

"No, Sierra. You will succeed. Never underestimate yourself; being confident is also good for attracting a positive aura in the body. As you said, luck can favour anyone, including you."

Silent, Sierra stared at Gama for a moment before finally deciding to leave Gama, who continued to stare at her until he disappeared behind the closed door.

Nervousness returned to Sierra's mind as she stared at the hundred-story building in front of her. Pessimistic, that's what she felt. How could a small company attract the attention of a big company like Featherston to work with it? Moreover, the competition was fierce, namely the Lowe's group, a company owned by the Jordan family. A company experienced in securing multi-billion dollar collaborative projects.

Now Sierra is sitting in a waiting chair, waiting to make an appointment with someone important to Featherston.

No sooner had Sierra waited than a beautiful woman in a white blazer arrived, escorted by several well-built men. Everyone stood up to greet her while Sierra observed her from a distance.

There was admiration and even envy in Sierra's mind for the woman's good fortune. At her young age, she was already in the highest position; Sierra was sure it was not easy to reach where she was now.

"When can I be like her?" Sierra muttered. She breathed deeply to calm down until a man called her name.

"Mis, Sierra Maheswara?"

Sierra immediately nodded. She stood up and walked towards the man.

"Yes, I am Sierra Maheswara." She pointed to herself.

"Okay, come with me; Mis Lopiuy is calling."

"Me?" Sierra was still in disbelief. Nervous as she was, this was the first time she was dealing with the woman she had just admired. And that was enough to make Sierra's heart race.

"Huff... God, I hope this goes the way I expect it to."

Sierra prayed incessantly for the smooth running of this meeting.

When confronted with the woman who held the number two position in Featherston, Sierra was even more nervous at Lopiuy's unfriendly face.

"Hello, Mis, I'm Sierra, a representative of the Maheswara company. Thank you for allowing me to meet you." Sierra said, trying to contain her nervousness.

"I'm here to discuss the hospital construction contract. Although Maheswara is only a small company, not as well known as other companies, we will work very hard and have a good reputation in interior design, property, and furniture."

Sierra handed over the paperwork and spoke again. "This is our company portfolio; please take a look."

Lopiuy accepted the document expressionlessly, took a quick look and put the file back on the table as if he had not seen anything written.

Sierra was surprised by Lopiuy's actions. "Is there something wrong?" Sierra confirmed.
