Chapter 5

"You don't need to show me anything because I've already given this entire project to you." Sierra was stunned for a moment. Her soul seemed to float when she heard that.

"Really? Oh, well, I see." Sierra's face was filled with despair.

There seemed to be something wrong. Sierra's expression did not show happiness.

"You're not happy about getting this project?"

"No, I'm fine." Sierra denied it even though her face showed disappointment.

"I accepted your offer; we will work together. You should be happy. Isn't this what you came here for? So what's with your expression?"

Sierra furrowed her brows. "Expression? Project? What does that mean?" Sierra's face lit up.

"Yes, we've decided; your company is the only one to get the contract for this project. And here is the contract. I've prepared everything; please study it and contact me if there's anything you don't understand." A stack of files was in front of Sierra, making it difficult for her to react.

Sierra's face showed great surprise. "Wh-what are you kidding, Mis?" She still couldn't believe the files in her hands.

Lopiuy smiled at that. "No, Miss, this is serious. I have completely handed over this cooperation project to your company," Lopiuy assured.

"Sa-I guess, I still don't believe it. I'm very nervous."

"It's okay, Young Miss Sierra. Everything will be fine." Sierra smiled, taking his hand to ease her nervousness.

Sierra sighed in relief, "You're right, thanks for the deal." Sierra hurriedly moved her hand out of Lopiuy's reach.

"Then, if you'll excuse me, Miss Lopiuy." Sierra hurriedly left the room of Featherston's number two. There was a sense of discomfort as Lopiuy held her hand.

Why would she do that? Is she...? Gosh, this is so not right.

That night, when Gama returned to Audie's residence and opened the door, Giorgio doused him with a foul liquid.

The stench of the foul-smelling liquid clung to Gama's body, "What is the meaning of this, Giorgio?" Gama demanded, his voice filled with anger and disbelief.

Giorgio chuckled. There was a wicked glint in his eyes. "Consider it a parting gift from me, Gama."

Audie's words were a continuation of the attack. "You've kept us waiting, Gama. Your absence shows arrogance and disrespect for this family."

Jordan, who was standing with Audie, wore a look of disgust. "You took too long to come back; you've made me wait a long time!"

"You waited for me, for what?"

Jordan chuckled at that, "Don't play dumb, Gama. Don't forget the deal we made. You have to leave Sierra right now!"

Gama chuckled, "Really? On what basis are you saying that? Did you win the cooperation project?"

Jordan looked nervous until he said. "No, I didn't apply for the contract; Featherston already gave the project to someone else."

"You didn't get it? Why do you look so arrogant, Jordan." Giorgio said, which took Jordan by surprise.

"What are you talking about, Gio? Are you defending him?"

"No, that's not it. I just think you seem to have lost your mind. You've already failed but confidently demanded what you just said."

"You-"

"Stop it already." Audie interrupted Jordan.

"Jordana, forgive Gio. He's just talking out of his ass. Whatever happens, I will support you. I'll make sure you marry my daughter."

"Right, Jordan," Barbara assured. "Why would Sierra stay with a man like him? A failed man who's a disgrace, isn't that right, Mom?"

"That's right, Jordan. And you, Gama, sign the divorce papers and leave here. I'm sick of you."

"Looks like you still want us to part ways; what do you expect from someone like Jordan? Mom and Sister Barbara should reflect on their experience; a man like Jordan is nothing to be proud of, and the result will be like Gio. Just a big-mouthed physical slave with no results."

"How dare you!" Gio approached and grabbed Gama by the shirt. With a sharp glare, Gio said again, "On what basis do you insult me like that? While you are far worse than me, a poor man who only relies on his wife's sweat."

"Let go of me." Gama pushed Giorgio hard.

"At least I'm not a lying man, not a man who likes to leave in the middle of the night without your wife knowing."

Giorgio panicked, "What are you talking about? Who goes out in the middle of the night."

"I didn't say it was you. Do you think it was you?"

The question naturally raised questions for Barbara. "Is it true that you often go out at night?" Barbara looked at Giorgio suspiciously.

"No, that's not true. I never did that. Yes, I did go out in the middle of the night, but I went with your permission. Did you forget that?"

"So what's this?" Gama showed a video of Giorgio with a woman who was not his wife.

"What is this, Gio? You with a bar whore?"

"No, she's not a hooker, she's a good woman!" Giorgio seems to have misspoken. And that made Barbara's anger peak.

"If not a prostitute, then what are you doing? A good woman wouldn't make out with a married man unless you were lying."

"No, dear. I-I can explain. I-"

"I what? I'm disappointed. I want to separate. Divorce me right now!" After saying that, Barbara left, as did Giorgio, who continued to express regret for his mistake.

Gama just smiled at Giorgio's dispute, Audie, seeing Gama's expression.

"Are you satisfied to see them fight, Gama? Are you satisfied to make a mess of my son's household? What do you want? You are so cunning,"

Gama could only stare in disbelief at Audie's words and tried to explain.

"Mom, I just want to help Barbara, nothing more. Do you have the heart to see your daughter lied to repeatedly by her husband? You don't support the affair, do you?"

Audie looked troubled as if confirming what Gama had said.

"Mom, I'm doing this because I care about Barbara. I don't want anything worse to happen to her." Gama assured.

Not long after, a clap of hands distracted Audie.
