Chapter 13

Jacob left me alone in the car. He said he would try to find a slipper that will fit my feet. My eyes landed to the baseball cup on the dashboard. I picked it up and put it on my head. I'm sure it's Jacob's because it smells like vanilla. I pulled down the visor a bit to cover my face.

I licked my bottom lip then looked up. Even though I was a little nervous, I couldn't help but look around. If the buildings in the Centro look like Spanish, the buildings here were European inspired and made of black bricks. The equipments here were also old.

"Vegetables, everyone! They're cheap and freshly harvested!" My gaze flew to where that loud voice came from. It came from an old man with a white towel wrapped on his head. In front of him were different kinds of vegetables. I leaned against the door and folded my arms.
