Chapter 163: The Virgin´s Real Christmas, Part 3, James´ Plans

JAMES

As soon as I´m alone, I go to my office, booting up my laptop to check the weather forecast and the state of the roads. The forecast is good; biting temperatures, but clear sunshine. And just as I turn the machine off again, there is a rumble from outside. I flick the curtains back to see a snow plough grinding its way up our mountain road.

... Perfect...

... Now for the turkey...

In the kitchen I organise myself, laying everything out to hand:

Onions, chestnuts, salt, pepper, parsley, celery, bread crumbs...

The front door bangs as I hear the two of them come in again, echoing down the hall. She´s making a helluva holler...

Pausing from chopping onions, "Something wrong?" I call.

Footsteps ring down the hall and Michael sticks his head around the door, eyes dancing. "Nothing that won´t be sorted out by getting her sweater off and removing the snowball that went down her neck and... um... lodged."
