The devil I know and the one draped in moonlight and rain

Sandra’s POV

The cold wind whipped across my face and the heavy down pour did nothing to help my situation, my legs begged me to stop running but I could not, not even if I wanted to live, not if I valued my life.

           The moon was high and bright above my head, the only source of light that illuminated the dark path ahead of me. I heard the sounds of footsteps approaching behind me, each sound I heard sounded like the death bells.

          All of a sudden, I tripped violently over a stump and crashed in to the wet forest floor, a curse flew from my lips at once, of course now had to be the perfect time to fall.

          I stumbled to my feet but it was too late, the footsteps had gotten closer already and soon enough, the beams of light from the flashlights bathed me and I had to shield my eyes from the blinding lights.

           The dogs surrounded me all once barking ferociously, sending shivers of fear down my spine, their massive teeth could shred me to bits without a doubt.

          “Did you really think you could run away from me? You should know kitten, you belong to me and there is no way on this earth you could run to where will not be able to find you” an all too familiar voice said.

 I raised my hand to shield my eyes from the light and get a good look at the man speaking to me.

          Dark eyes stared back at me, he stood there looking sinfully handsome, his black hair was wet and plastered to his face, his lack leather jacket gleamed under the rain his skin even paler under the light of the light of the moon, he was tall, taller than all the men who had chased me along with him.

“Just let me go Jason, please I said”

 My voice shook, mostly because of the rain and cold but also because of the fear I felt for the man standing before me. I knew for a fact that he was dangerous and being in his presence was bad for me especially since I had pissed him off by running away.

         

He asked and then took a step toward me, I took one step back as well, the dogs surrounding me growled in response to the motion.

          “you should know I am never going to let you go Sandra, you belong to me and no one else“ Jason said  with a seductive grin on his face.

          The smile sent a wave of fear rushing through my entire body, I knew that anytime he smiled like that, it meant danger to the person he was speaking to.

          “I do not believe that to be true baby brother” a voice said, it was a voice I had never heard before.

          Every head whipped in direction of the voice, mine included, my eyes fell on a tall man, his hair was black similar to Jason but that was the only thing that made both men similar, the new comer had somewhat huge build while Jason was of leaner frame, I could not see because of the rain but I could tell that his eyes were clearly were not as dark as Jason’s.

I had never known Jason to have a brother in all the years I had known him.

The man took a few steps forward, the white shirt he wore was plastered to his chest, his blue jeans hugged his powerful legs, I could already feel the over powering dominance this man possessed, this was definitely another thing they had in common but I was still very confused and also very cold, the thin dress I was wearing was not exactly ideal for the current weather.

“This is not possible, you can not be here” Jason said, the surprise was much too evident on his face and in every word he spoke.

A deep chuckle escaped the brother’s lips and then he said “You seem surprised brother but then again, you should be since the last time I saw you, you were pumping silver bullets into my body”

A gasp escaped my lips, Jason had tried to this man who was claiming to be his brother and since he had mentioned silver bullets that meant he was also a beast like Jason, fear filled my entire body and I wanted to run far away from all this madness and unreal situation but the dogs still had me surrounded.

“You have a nasty habit of surviving when you were not supposed to, you always showed up where you were not wanted” Jason said, anger and frustration coated every word he spoke.

The other man simply smiled and said “I am not here to listen to your ramblings Jason, I am here to take what is mine and you will not stop me”

Jason’s eyes flickered to and then back to his brother before he said “You will not be taking anything away from me tonight”

“You can’t stop me Jason, she is leaving with me tonight” the other man said and took a threatening step toward Jason who did the same thing as well.

I was confused, who was she? Did he mean me? I was still trying to figure out how my life had turned out this way, just two weeks ago I was a corporate assistant and now, I was somehow caught up in the middle of some supernatural drama.

A laugh escaped Jason’s lips “You can’t do anything, you are alone and I have an entire army behind me, you can not possibly be delusional enough to think you can fight us all at once”

A smile crossed the man’s face and then he said “Don’t worry about me brother, you should just worry about yourself and your little sidekicks”

I was getting scared, like really scared, I could hear silent footsteps approaching, even the dogs surrounding me had sensed the danger in the air because they immediately ran from my side and rushed off in the direction of the house from which I had run from.

The rain had refused to stop pouring and I was still shivering badly, it was a wonder that I had not passed out yet but I was too scared and confused to pass out.

Slow footsteps sounded, coming closer to where we were all standing and then I saw them, big, massive dogs or perhaps they were wolves, I had no idea what they were but they scared the hell out of me, I watched with wide eyes as the wolves matched forward until they all stood behind the man, I counted a total of huge wolves of different colors.

“How on earth is this possible?” Jason asked, his eyes were wide as he spoke.

A dark escaped the other man’s lips “You have no idea what is possible and what is not brother” he said and all of a sudden, the wolves behind him attacked Jason and his men.

I heard a scream somewhere in the distance and it took me a while to realize that the scream had come from me.

Screams filled the night air and I felt my legs give out underneath me and I was falling, the smell of blood filled my nostrils and made me even more light headed than I already was, I waited for my body to hit the hard floor but it never did, I felt hard hands snake around and I was pulled against a hard wet chest.

My eyes fluttered open and met forest green ones, a look of concern on the face of the man who held me.

“Don’t worry Brianne, you are safe now, I got you” he said and pulled my tired body against his as he lifted me up and cradled me in his arms.

“Who was Brianne and why did the name sound so familiar?”

Right now I could not think, I was too tired, too scared and too cold to think properly, my eyes fluttered close and the last thing I saw was the man who held me looking at me like I was most the precious thing in the entire world.
