Chapter 10: Mother?

I was lying in bed, staring blankly at the ceiling, feeling the heavy burden of guilt weighing down on me. I had told Eddie that I was married, but I hadn't had the chance to explain that it was only a contract marriage.

That's what had been bothering me at the office earlier. I had scribbled down notes about the contract marriage on a piece of paper, trying to make sense of it all. But now, here in my in-laws' house, the situation was even more frustrating. I was trapped in this contract marriage and finding it difficult to get out.
