"I miss that house."

Gabe's voice as she stirred the soup made the other two people in the room turn to her. One of the two women cutting vegetables frowned.

"How long will we be staying here?" Jill asked, resting her chin on the table.

Ever since the Duffal family was killed, she'd been daydreaming more often because there wasn't much work she could do while staying at home for the witnesses. She and her fellow maids gossiped more and sometimes even daydreamed when they had finished all the work in the house.

“Put in the vegetables, Gabe. Don't daydream like Jill." Amanda snorted.

Jill pursed her lips in annoyance. Amanda never changed, she was always the one to nag at them the most when they weren't working and gossiping too much.

"I think Jill is a little heartbroken." Gabe giggled. She received a glare from Jill, but she continued to mock her.
