I was still dumbstruck that he was here, at this time and alone. How did he find my address? What was the reason? I was lost in thoughts, his question brought me back.

“Can I come in?” He asked me politely while eyeing the rest of the building like he was surprised that I was staying in a place like this. I sighed but I was back to reality anyway.

“It is almost eleven p.m There's no way I'm letting a man inside my house.” I said firmly. I wasn’t going to make any mistakes. Not with my daughter inside.

“I’m not just any man- i’m your boss.” He said in a cold tone and a demanding tone. He saw that I tilted my head, I guess he had forgotten that he was my boss at work and not in my home or my comfort space. I watched him.

“Please can I come in? It irks me standing out here.” He said again, his arrogance peaked but I wasn’t moved.

“No.” I replied firmly again and then he rolled his eyes at me. He sighed and his eyes went down a bit. He seemed humbled.
