Chapter 83

Arthur POV

She was in my arms when i stirred awake, cuddled right next to me with her lips slightly parted. I had passed out on the couch with her resting on me and it was one of the best sleep I’ve had in weeks. Even though my legs hurt from not having a place to properly rest, it was worth it.

My body had given out to the stress from the past couple of days and it was clear that i needed the rest. I checked the time on the wall and realized we still had four more hours until it was dawn, meaning two things. I either go back to sleep or i begin my day.

“What are you thinking about?” She was awake. Her eyes were still closed making me wonder how she could tell.

“How-”

“Your heartbeat, it started racing few seconds ago-” she paid attention to the little things and it marvelled me.

“Sorry if i disrupted your sleep.” I apologized as she sat up.

“Its fine, are you okay?” She asked while brushing her hair carefully behind her ears.

“Yes- its just two a.m. meaning you need to get more sleep
