Chapter 1

Danielle Pov

Never in a million years did I think i would travel alone, nor did i think i was going to get drunk at the bar close to the beach by the hotel i stayed it just happened above my imagination but guess what? Here I was, getting ready to leave my room and head towards the bar. I stared at my figure in the mirror one last time and smoothened my palms against the material of my dress, it was a red dress which stopped at my thighs and let the rest of my legs on display to everyone who watched.

I had done my makeup lightly but didn’t go easy on the lips as the red lipstick made my average cupid bow lips stand out, my lashes had been coated with a considerate amount of mascara that made my almond eyes pop, attractive.

“You’ve got this-”

“Dani- are you still there or do you need more prep talk from me.” My friend Hazel said from the phone. She had called to ask what my plans were for the night and when i told her nothing she insisted i went out to the bar to get some fresh air.

Yes, i may have lied about travelling out here by myself. I did come here by myself but it was an office trip and today was my last night here before i returned back. Hazel wanted me to have no regrets and i was already regretting the decision to step out of the comfort of my hotel room.

“I’m fine,” i said and grabbed my purse. “I’m fine.” I repeated more to myself than to Hazel. “Good, now what did i say-”

“Go out, have a drink and engage with somebody.” I repeated the mantra with my free hands up in the air.

“Good girl, now enjoy this night like it’s your last.”

I sighed and ended the call as I stepped out of the room, I chewed on my lips while i pressed on the elevator doors and got in. Thankfully, it was just me inside and I didn't have to worry about keeping my shit together with someone else around.

By the time I was outside, the cold air whipped around me and I shivered at the exposure my legs had. My coat was fanciful and did less of a coat job. While i walked to the bar, i inhaled the scent of the sea and enjoyed the aura of the area, it was peaceful and friendly that everyone had happy smiles on their faces, maybe it had something to do with the fact that it was a friday but all that mattered was that they were having fun.

“What can I get you?” The bartender who happened to be a young man asked as he cleaned the counter, there

“Uh- any-” I answered clumsily as i sat on the stool and made my eyes drift over the place.

“First time?” he asked and i nodded. “Alright then, I’ll make you a negroni then, just something that’ll loosen you up.” He said with a soft smile and i nodded in understanding.

“Relax, you have so much to enjoy-” he said and turned his back to me. I stared at the dance floor which was already filled up with dancing people, the light were bright and shining towards my direction, some beautiful perfumes of some people were striking right into my nose and it gave me more comfortable sensation, my eyes landed on a pair of hazel eyes that pierced through the sea of people holding me in its gaze. They belonged to a man seated far back with a group of people around him talking but he paid no attention to them instead his eyes remained fixated on me like i had something he was looking for.

“Here- one neatly made negroni.” The bartender said and i turned breaking away from the intense gaze of the stranger.

“Thanks.” I said and inspected the glass, not for anything but to distract myself from the eyes on me.

I had drank about two shots when the surge of confidence induced me and i staked off to the dance floor when i moved my hands above my head like i didn’t have social anxiety. I moved until i was at the same place where the man with Hazel eyes were, to my surprise he was still there and his eyes remained on me,I looked around and still noticed the gaze, but I ignored and continued holding my head.

He held an aura of confidence that made me attracted to him, everything about him screamed mysterious and dangerous.

I stopped dancing and stared at him and my breathing hitched when he pushed out of the chair and stood to his full height, he towered over me easily and my head tilted backwards. He stepped closer and his scent invaded me- a touch of sandalwood and spice. I swallowed, unable to hold back, someone knocked into me, and pushed me forward right into his arms.

Strong hands reached out and grabbed my waist to prevent me from falling, I staggered a bit and gained myself on my feet, with his hands still on my waist and warmth exuded all around like I was in a freaking sauna.

“Easy there-” His voice was deep and wrecked goosebump up my skin.

“Woah.” I muttered while my hands found his chest, underneath the shirt i could feel hard, toned muscles that created images in my head. Hot and Sexy images.

“Like what you touch?” He asked and my head snapped up to his face, even from the colored lights there was a strong highlight that made his cheekbones stand out, some strand of his hair hovered over his eyes as he stared at me. He had a smirk on his face that made me want to reach out to his face and pull him against me.

“I don’t want to sound like a creepy but you’re quite breath taking yourself,” he whispered and I found myself leaning into his touch for closure, there was something magnetic about him, i wanted to be with him and stay with him.

“I think you’re not so bad yourself.” I muttered with my eyes darting down to his lips. He followed my movement and his lips tugs into a smille.

“Do you want to get out of here?” He asked as his lips hovered over my eyes blurring out the loud noise from the dance floor.

“Yes please.” I replied too quickly.
