Chapter 6 Unexpected Flirting Is Fatal

Intending to add fuel to the fire, Charmaine said, "Although Larissa is a cleaner, she's working for Hamilton Group! Dad, Mom, don't you need to establish a connection with Hamilton Group?

"When Larissa goes to work, she'll see the higher-ups from different departments. Then, she can convey our family's wish to collaborate with them. It's better than nothing!"

Larissa looked at Charmaine with a faint smile.

Charmaine's idea was foolish.

The reason Charmaine suggested this was to embarrass Larissa.

Larissa's actions would infuriate the higher-ups of Hamilton Group. She would lose her job and be thrown out of the building by the security guards!

Charmaine had been embarrassed by being kicked out by the security guards. Thus, she wanted Larissa to suffer too!

Ethan frowned and said, "Well, I guess this plan might work. After all, it's our last resort. You should give it a try tomorrow, Larissa!"

Penelope chimed in, "You're right. Larissa, you should try to see if it works. If you fail, you'll only lose your job. It's better than letting others know you're working as a cleaner!"

"What do I get if I succeed?" Larissa asked.

Penelope slammed the table in anger. "What's with your attitude? How dare you make demands when your family asked you for a favor?"

Larissa shrugged and said, "I would've starved to death if I hadn't worked and earned money myself. Since you want me to help you, it's only fair for you to give me something in return. If you're unwilling to do so, then forget about the favor. After all, I'm just a cleaner!"

Ethan cut in before Penelope could say more.

For the first time, he said to Larissa with a gentle tone, "What do you want, Larissa?"

Larissa replied indifferently, "I want to switch bedrooms with Charmaine."

"That's not possible! It's mine!" Charmaine almost lunged forward to scratch Larissa's cunning face.

Charmaine's bedroom was the best room in the house. It had good lighting and a spacious balcony. Larissa's bedroom, which was converted from a small and shabby attic, was used for storage at first.

The difference was significant!

Ethan came to a decision. "Alright! It's only a room. It's not a big deal!"

Charmaine was furious.

Just then, she thought of something and smiled.

Charmaine would never believe Larissa could make a business deal. She was waiting for the moment Larissa would be thrown out by the security guards.

The next day, Larissa wore a simple T-shirt and jeans. She tied her hair into a ponytail, carried a backpack, and went downstairs.

Being unusually affectionate, Penelope said, "Have breakfast before you go, Larissa."

Larissa didn't intend to eat, but she changed her mind when she noticed Charmaine's jealous expression.

"Okay, Mom," Larissa replied.

Ethan exclaimed, "I know it's okay for youngsters to skip breakfast, but you should still remember to eat, Larissa!"

A hint of mockery gleamed in Larissa's eyes.

What a lovely father-daughter moment.

If people didn't know better, they would think Larissa shared a great relationship with her family.

After having breakfast, Larissa left the house.

Charmaine gave an excuse and followed her out. She didn't believe a mere cleaner like Larissa could seal a big business deal.

Charmaine planned to wait for Larissa to be escorted out by the security guards at the entrance of Hamilton Tower. Then, she would take pictures of Larissa being embarrassed. After that, she could post the photos on the college forum and humiliate Larissa before she entered college.

Charmaine watched as Larissa entered Hamilton Tower without being obstructed by the security guards. She took the elevator. She glanced around her surroundings and entered the building too.

Charmaine walked toward the reception counter and asked, "Excuse me, is there a cleaner named Larissa Solace working here?"

After the dismissal of Simon and Natasha, the entire Hamilton Group has undergone changes.

The receptionist became vigilant and asked, "Why do you want to know?"

Charmaine smiled, "I'm just asking. Never mind, I'll leave now."

The receptionist didn't hesitate and called for security.

The security guards recognized Charmaine as she had come with Lukas the day before. "Get lost, troublemaker! We'll call the police if we see you lurking around!"

They promptly escorted her out.

Charmaine had never received this much mistreatment from other people before. Her eyes reddened out of anger.

She found herself a spot across from Hamilton Tower, held her phone, and waited to capture a photo of Larissa being chased out by the security guards.

However, two hours had passed, yet Larissa never came out after entering the building.

Charmaine was on the verge of fainting under the scorching sun. She felt tired and thirsty.

"Damn you, Larissa Solace! I'll capture your ugly side for sure!" she cursed.

At the same time, Larissa was seated across from the air conditioner in the CEO's office on the 38th floor. She was indulging in a drink from Starbucks and a chocolate mousse cake.

"Mister, this cake is so delicious!"

Ambrose wiped the cream off the corner of Larissa's lips with his finger. "You should eat more if you like it."

He then naturally dipped his cream-covered finger into his mouth.

Larissa almost choked upon watching Ambrose's actions and blushed.

That inexplicably seductive act was extremely effective.

"Mister, have you been in a relationship before?"

Although Larissa shouldn't be concerned about Ambrose's past, she wanted to know.

Also, she couldn't help feeling a little jealous.

"This is my first." Ambrose's words had a hidden meaning in them. "That night was my first as well."

Larissa rejoiced but said, "How can that be? Many women must be in love with you because of how handsome you are."

"Maybe, but I've never paid attention to those women."

He just did it again. Ambrose was such a flirt!

What was disturbing was that he maintained an earnest demeanor, yet he kept saying things that would make any woman fall for him.

Ambrose said, "So, if there's anything that I did wrong, please tell me. I can learn and change my ways."

"You're the best, Mister!"

Larissa hesitated. She wanted to ask Ambrose about his legs but was afraid she would touch a nerve by mentioning it. It didn't matter. She could ask him when the right time came.

At that moment, a series of raps came from the door.

Owen stood at the door and said respectfully, "Mr. Hamilton, I've prepared the things you've ordered. Should I bring them in now?"

Ambrose nodded and said, "Yes, bring them in."

Soon, a group brought in an incredibly comfortable couch with marshmallow-like cushions, a small blanket, and a pair of fluffy bunny slippers.
