Chapter 7 What The Hell

Owen put a stack of teen romance novels down and gestured toward Larissa.

"Madam, these were selected for you according to Mr. Hamilton's instructions. I hope you like them."

Larissa was dumbfounded.

She glanced at the newly-added furniture. Then, she turned to stare at the rest of the office, which was decked out in cold colors.

The contrast was huge!

Ambrose said with a hint of uncertainty, "I was afraid you'd be bored, so I had someone prepare these for you. If you don't like them—"

"I love them!"

Larissa ran toward Ambrose and hugged him.

She exclaimed, "Mister, are you a genie? How come you can conjure up anything that I like?"

As Larissa's body pressed against his, Ambrose stiffened up and recalled the passionate scene from that night.

Larissa was quick enough to let go. Otherwise, she would've noticed the changes in his body.

Ambrose raised his hand and covered the crotch area of his pants. "I'd do anything for you."

Larissa kicked off her shoes. She wore the bunny slippers and took a few steps.

She then kicked off the pair of slippers and lay on the couch. After she tucked herself in the small blanket, she picked up a novel.

It was a queer novel.

That was her favorite genre! Ambrose knew her too well!

Ambrose saw the explicit cover of the book featuring two men. His lips twitched. Soon, his handsome face had a gloomy expression.

Snatching the book from Larrisa's hand, Ambrose declared, "I'm confiscating this one!"

He placed an intercom call, gritted his teeth, and said, "Owen, you've lost your bonus for this month!"

Owen bit a handkerchief, and tears streamed down his face.

He had accidentally slipped in his queer novel. Ambrose must have discovered it.

Larissa covered her mouth and laughed.

She had a comfortable time lounging at Ambrose's office.

Owen brought the signed and stamped contract. "Madam, the contract is ready."

"Thank you," Larissa replied.

Succumbing to her conscience, she turned to Ambrose and said, "Mr. Clark has been diligent in his work, Mister. How about we forget about the matter of deducting his bonus?"

Owen gazed at Larissa with gratitude.

Ambrose glanced at Owen before stating, "Consider this as your redemption."

Owen beamed. "Thank you, Mr. Hamilton and Madam!"

The old Ambrose was cold, decisive and meant what he had said.

After getting married, he was now a different man. He started to become affectionate, not to mention he pampered his wife. Those who doted on their wives were good men!

Larissa wanted to take the contract home. Thus, she didn't have dinner with Ambrose.

She declined his offer to give her a ride back home. After that, Larissa picked up her bag and boarded the bus.

Charmaine waited at the entrance of Hamilton Tower for several hours. Yet, she didn't see any security guards escorting Larissa out.

Instead, she was the one who got chased away by the security guards.

Charmaine grumbled, "Why did you only come home now, Larissa? Did you ignore what we asked for? Did you just spend the whole day cleaning?"

Penelope and Ethan had dark expressions on their faces. They thought Larissa would give it a shot!

Ethan said, "You've disappointed me, Larissa!"

Larissa took the contract from her backpack and said, "I've sealed the deal. Hamilton Group has agreed to collaborate with us."

"What? You've succeeded?" Shocked, Ethan accidentally spilled his hot drink and ended up burning his hand.

He could care less about his injury right now as he dashed over to Larissa.

After wiping his hands dry, Ethan took the contract.

Meanwhile, Charmaine was in disbelief. She exclaimed, "That's impossible! You're just a cleaner! How could Hamilton Group negotiate a deal with you? It must be fake! You must've printed out a fake document! You must be lying to Mom and Dad!"

Penelope pulled a long face and said, "Larissa, how dare you deceive us with a fake contract! I swear I'll disown you!"

Ethan read through the contract.

All the terms were favorable to the Solace family.

Hamilton Group wouldn't gain any advantages and offered many benefits to the Solace family instead.

Ethan's expression became darker.

The renowned Hamilton family was a top family in Jaedornia. Even if they were to stoop down and collaborate with other companies, they would show no mercy and secure all the privileges in their hands.

They wouldn't offer such generous terms. If the contract had been authentic, the top enterprises in Ambrollum City would've viewed Hamilton Group as a joke.

Ethan slammed a hand on the table and yelled, "Larissa Solace, how dare you give me a fake contract! Get out of the house right now!"

Larissa was truly speechless.

No wonder Solace Corporation was still a small fry company up until now. It turned out that Ethan was an idiot.

The phone rang. Ethan answered the call angrily. "Who the hell are you!"

"This is Peter Rhodes, the director of the Procurement Department from Hamilton Group. I'm in charge of any procurement matters with Solace Corporation. Are you Mr. Solace, the general manager?

Ethan's expression suddenly changed to a cheerful one. He held the phone, nodded, and said, "That's me! I'm Ethan Solace! I'm happy to work with Hamilton Group, Mr. Rhodes!"

Penelope and Charmaine were shocked.

After Ethan had hung up with a smile, Penelope asked, "Is this true? Was that really someone from Hamilton Group? Or did Larissa pay someone to deceive us?"

Ethan didn't bother to mince his words, "Do you think I'm an idiot? I've worked in the business sector for years! Do you think I can't discern whether the man's identity is real?"

He looked at Larissa with a loving expression, "How did you manage to succeed, Larissa?"

Larissa replied, "I met the higher-ups. I told them our family was happy to collaborate with them. Then, they agreed."

Ethan laughed heartily. "I see! That's great! It seems our family is quite well known. You've been a great help to me, Larissa!"

Charmaine was enraged, to say the least.

What the hell? How did things turn out like this?

Maybe Hamilton Group intended to collaborate with the Solace family all along. Larissa had just happened to meet the higher-ups at the right time.

If it had been Charmaine to meet them, she would have succeeded too. She had handed this golden opportunity to Larissa on a silver platter.

Charmaine tugged on Ethan's sleeve and pouted.

"Dad, I met Mr. Clark from Hamilton Group last time when I went to Hamilton Tower with Lukas. I talked to him about a potential proposal, and he had expressed interest in them. So, I guess that's why Larissa was able to seal the deal!"
