Thank you all for reading!!
“He asked what pack I was from and general details you can find on the internet! Don’t worry, I didn’t tarnish your pretty face. I just informed him that our pack was growing and expecting great things this next year. He was taking basic notes to do a full report on the supporters of the king.” Jasmine took a napkin and started trying to clean her dress. “Here is a new drink.” Axel placed a glass of something red in front of her. My lack of caring was pretty high. I just hoped this drug would kick in sooner than later. “I can’t fucking believe you! You did that on purpose!” Her face was flushed with anger. “It was an accident but please, keep making a scene.” Axel looked around and there was indeed people glancing our way. Jasmine dropped her napkin as she realized how loud she was being. When she went to grab it, she lost her balance and almost fell over. Thankfully, I was quick to grab her arm and help her stand up. “What the hell, Jasmine?” I asked, faking stupid. “I don’t
Pictures of Charlotte filled the box. Most of them were when she was younger. Even toddler age but some where of her when she was in New York. He had found her and was following her this entire time. There was some of Nora and them eating lunch together. Surveillance photos. If he knew where she was this whole time, then why didn’t he pick her up? Why let her continue to live a life? Why that why Nora’s ex-boyfriend kept finding her? We all knew we couldn’t take the pictures and if we took pictures of the pictures then he would see the flash go off. With a final grunt, she screamed loudly and then silence. Patrick replaced the lid on the box and put it back up there with whatever was on top of it. “What are you doing?” He asked her. “Getting comfortable?” She sounded confused. “No, you aren’t staying here tonight. I have a big day tomorrow and I need some good rest.” “Bu-” SLAP! “Leave!” We could hear her soft cries as she gathered her stuff and left. Holding our breaths, we
“Given the high profile this case is and your clients record or evading the guards, I believe it is in the best interest to keep Ms. Hailey here. I am revoking bail. However, if I see a new bruise on her body, I will reverse my decision and give Ms. Lilith what she is asking for. Understood?” We knew we were going to get rejected but it still hurt. Jasmine was grinning from ear to ear with that news. By the way Charlotte kept twitching her neck, I knew she could feel me but she refused to look at me. I wanted to tell her to keep her head up, to have some faith. I wanted to say that I was sorry for how things went down but I was trying to help. If she would only meet my eyes, I would relay that to her but she refused. “Monday we will hear opening statements and get this started.” Judge Janelle ordered. “Your honor! That is only one day! We need time to prepare our defense!” Lilith tried to plead her case. “Then I suggest you get to work.” Judge Janelle stood up. “All rise.” Ever
If I was suppose to be quiet, I wasn’t. I knew I was screaming but the sheer terror I felt was like nothing else. I was being tossed around, left, right, up and down. In circles and every direction that I couldn’t gather my own thoughts. My hands searched frantically for the yellow handle. I knew it was on the right side of me but that meant bending my left shoulder which was my hurt shoulder. My finger tips could reach it but my hand couldn’t grasp it. Using my right arm, I pushed my left arm up and over my shoulder to pull the rope. The sharp pain told me I tore something. It instantly went limp and I coudn’t move it. Maybe dislocated it? As my shoot opened, the whiplash was something I was going to be feeling for awhile. Looking up, the plane I was just on was flying high and away from me. Looking down, the forest below me was quickly approaching. The speed was a little fast but I didn’t know if I had breaks or not so it was all I could do to sit and wait for the trees to hit me
“Where is your sling?” Leo frowned as he looked at me walking gingerly down the stairs. The downstairs was one large room. Not that it was very big but the kitchen was on the far side and a small livingroom was in the middle. “Upstairs.” I said as I kept coming down the stairs. “You are suppose to wear that for another week.” “Speaking of which, how many days have I been here?” “Five.” Ezra said as he shoved a garlic bread stick in his mouth. The food smelled amazing. “Sit and eat. I’ll get you your sling.” Arlo said as he got up. I didn’t clean up after myself fully so I was slightly embarrassed for him to go in that room. Leo placed a plate in front of me and put a small amount of spaghetti on it. “Eat that and I can always give you more but I don’t want your stomach to get upset.” “Thank you.” Picking up the fork, I took a bit of the most delicious spaghetti I have ever tasted. Not sure if it was because I haven’t ate in like a month or if it was because it really was th
“WHOA! WHOA! WHOA!” Arlo stood up and held out his psalms to me in a defensive position. Closing my eyes, I had to focus on my breathing to keep myself calm. “I’m fine.” Taking another deep breath. I held it before releasing it and opening my eyes again. “That was fucking scary shit.” Arlo relaxed his shoulders. I didn’t even stop from rolling my eyes. “It’s nothing. Forget it even happened.” Leaning back in the couch, I grabbing removed I turned the T.V back on. Arlo gave me a last look before sitting down beside me. “What do you want to do?” Arlo asked. There was only a western on or a 60’s game show. Neither sounded good so I just turned the T.V back off. “I don’t care. It’s not like I have options.” “I have these…” Arlo got up and walked over to a small desk that was in the corner. He opened a drawer and pulled out something before walking over to me and laying it in front of me. It was a drawing pad and colored pencils. My face lit up in excitement. My body moved quic
“Does it matter?” Waylon asked. “It does to me.” Taking a sip of my beer, I continued. “I made the mistake of thinking you would protect me. Then, because of the mate bond, I starting thinking you would finally be the one to save me. My heart was hoping so but I was foolish. I should have just ran away again.” “He would have still found you and then when he was ready, he would have brought you in. Face it, you were on borrowed time.” Waylon muttered. “Sometimes ignorance is bliss. At least I was happy. Even if it was a fake happiness.” “Why are you so hell bent that you don’t get a happily ever after? Why can’t you just let me help you, if not to just give you a chance at freedom?” Waylon leaned forward and studied me. “And be in your debt? To watch my mate refuse to reject me so I will have to feel him betray me for the rest of my life?” “I won’t be betraying you if you accept me.” Waylon leaned back against his chair and finished off his beer before tossing the empty can in
“Waylon?” My head was in my hands as I was leaned forward. Looking up, Charlotte was walking towards me, slowly. She was wearing a basic t-shirt and leggings but it looked so sexy on her. “What do you want?” If was in no mood for her shit if she came here to fight. “I wanted to apologize.” I had to blink a few times. This was a trick… right? “Oh?” “Yeah. I know you have been trying to help me and I keep pushing you away. It has been easier for me to not allow anyone to get to know me. As you could see, Nora turned her back on me pretty quickly. You found out who I was and locked me in a safe room.” “It was for your safety. So people thought you left and wouldn’t look for you. Besides, you were in there touching yourself, thinking of me.” “THE POINT IS…” She said loudly as trying to not address that statement. “I think we both can say that we have no handled things… well. Maybe we can restart?” “Restart? As in start over? You want to start over?” I asked to clarify. “Yes. I
