Chapter 99

My wolf didn’t even hesitate. Positioning herself behind Thomas, she allowed the guards to have full view. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Ky pick up the chest with his mouth and slowly start making his way to us.

“I said, DON’T MOVE!” A warner shot fired, hitting the tree by my head.

There were so many things I could have said in this situation but she didn’t like any of them. Instead, she took her claw and sliced across Thomas’s neck so deep that I swear she hit his spine. Blood sprayed but we didn’t stick around to find out.

Before his body even dropped, we were running full speed. The sounds of bones breaking and gun fire went off behind us. Ky was running beside us but since the woods were so thick, he wasn’t at full speed. More than once, bullets connected in a tree, right where our head used to be.

I was struggling to remember the path that Ky told me but my wolf didn’t seem too concerned. Ky was staying beside us but if we were to get separated… Thunder started echoin
