Before Evelyn could even react to Dennis' proposition, Warren's large hand enveloped her shoulder. His gaze darkened, his eyes fixed with an icy intensity on Dennis.

Each syllable he uttered seemed to carry the chill of a winter's breeze. "No. She is mine."

Every inch of Warren's body simmered with anger as he saw right through Dennis' scheme. It appeared to be a mere façade of a relationship, but Warren sensed a deeper motive lurking beneath.

After finally managing to drive away Seth and William from Evelyn's side, Warren couldn't bear the thought of another man approaching her. If not for Dennis' earlier intervention in saving Evelyn, Warren would have gladly confronted him.

Dennis glanced up at Warren before tactfully shifting his gaze to Evelyn. With a calm tone, he responded, "My apologies if Ms. Jefferson feels uncomfortable. Let's put an end to this. I don't need any compensation. Please, you may leave." With a courteous nod, he prepared to rest.
