He beat himself so badly that his heart almost tore apart within him.

"I know I shouldn't have forgotten such an important discussion. I am sorry," he pleaded with her for forgiveness.

Juliet's lips widened with an extreme shock, "what has come over you Daniel. I might be angry but what you are doing is not necessary," she emphasized, because she is not expecting such from him.
