Taking Responsibility

Miriam was quite busy arranging the materials for the meeting in an empty cubicle when she heard the sound of hurried steps behind her. Before she could turn around, the owner of the steps had already disappeared and she was left with a gush of air.

“Who was that?” she asked the person sitting in the cubicle across from her with curiosity.

The person answered, “Mr. Cooper.”

“What?” Immediately, Miriam abandoned her tasks to chase after Richard. She found him waiting for the elevator in the hallway while putting on his coat. “Mr. Cooper, where are you going? What about the meeting?”

“Reschedule the meeting for tomorrow,” he answered before getting into the elevator as soon as the doors opened to him.
