Did you had another man with you?

I really wanted to ignore Hale's calls, but if I didn't, he'd be furious at home, or maybe would call Aaron directly, and the misfortune I'm hiding would be revealed and everyone would worry about me.

I couldn't stand anyone sabotaging Moore's succession convention! Alas, I had to take a deep breath before calling back.

"Oh, my dear wife." The snarky voice sounded again, "How's it going over there? had you met a lot of men who can serve you as comfortably as I do..."

"Hale!" I interrupted him reluctantly. "I told you I was with Aaron's family all the time!"

I didn't want to argue with him, so I held my palms to calm myself down, "I just went out with Moore and the others for an exercise, and I forgot to bring my phone. That's it. Now, do you had anything else to ask?"

"Look at what you said,'" he imitated my tone of voice disgustingly, "Look how cold-blooded and ruthless you are! I am your husband, the mate given to you by the Moon Goddess, and it is only right and proper for me to find you! Let me emphadize again. Once again, your cell phone must be with me at all times, if you dare to miss a call again, I would directly go to Cancer pack to find you, it just so happens that I may not had seen Aaron for a long time."

"Fine." It was pointless to argue with him, so I gave up, "I'll pay attention next time, is there anything else?"

"Oww, I hadn't seen you for two days, and I just realized that I miss you so much! Now open up the video chat and let me see you." He suddenly made a request.

But I know he didn't just want to see me that easily, but I still did as he says.

"Abbey's been nice to you, the room is pretty clean, let's go around." He gave another instruction.

Following what he said, I walked around the room, pointed the camera at the corners, let him open his eyes to see if there was a hidden man in my room...

"Wait, what's that on the table?"

"The table?" I looked down, and there was a razor with some hair on it someone had used it before.

I remembered that Abbey had just asked Moore to send me a set of quilts, which I presumably put down on the bed along with the razor blade.

"That's Moore..."

"Which man left it behind!" Hale was furious, "You are indeed a feisty woman! After leaving me for two days, you immediately hooked up with other men! You even took the man back to the bedroom! What a slut!"

"Enough!" He could say what he wanted to me but I couldn't allow him to slander, my family!

They were so pure and kind, and they deserve to be praised with the most beautiful words in the world!

"Believe it or not, I had never done anything wrong to you! Neither had my family! So please stop your vexatiousness."

Probably because Hale could sense my anger over the phone, and thank goodness he didn't go on with his snarky remarks.

I didn't want to dwell on it any longer, so I hung up the phone before he could respond.

The good mood of the day was gone, and the fatigue from the long journey swept in at this time. I didn't care that my hair was still wet. After throwing the towel on the table, I covered myself with the blanket.

Go to bed earlier, so I would not face these uncomfortable things after falling asleep.

Moore's inheritance ceremony was on the second night. The towering trees in the forest were tied with grey ribbons with ethnic groups' names and totems. A fire ring was arranged 500 meters away from the middle of the road. At night, these rings of fire would all ignite. Moore, who would transform into a werewolf, needed to pass through the rings of fire to reach the boulders at the edge of the canyon. Witnessed by the goddess of the moon and all the pack, he would accept the ring of adulthood from Aaron.

Of course, everything was still in preparation.

I thought I was getting up early, but when I came downstairs, I saw Abbey already preparing the ingredients; Cathy was dozing off while weaving a wreath; Aaron was talking in the yard to make sure the ceremony was perfect tonight.

As for Moore...

"He's still sleeping." Abbey was helpless. "Aaron and I had called him twice, and he can't get up."

"He didn't sleep at all last night." Cathy was woHale up by our voices and yawned, "He's been jumping around the room and I hadn't slept well!"

"He's probably nervous about today's ceremony." Abbey looked worried.

"There's nothing to be nervous about," Cathy said indifferently. "He's practised so many times! Burning all of his hair to make sure he's in perfection. Well, he just burned a pair of pants before Brooklyn came back."

"The pants were accidentally ripped off by a branch!" A husky voice sounded from the stairs behind.

My brother finally came downstairs.

Moore had huge dark circles under his eyelids, apparently hadn't slept all night. But the boy's self-esteem was not allowed to be challenged, and he came to Cathy with his eyes wide open.

"And! I only had the cuff hooked! Abbey had sewed it for me!"

"Humph!" Cathy didn't care, he wanted to see Moore's jokes more than knowing the truth.

Moore blushed with anger at Cathy's provocation, his claws almost sticking out.

I had to stand out to calm them down, "Okay, if you guys keep bickering like this, we might not be able to eat lunch."

"Humph!" Moore retracted his claws.

Fortunately, Aaron called him out at this time.

"Cathy," Abbey reminded her, "Moore would be an adult sooner, be nice to him."

"He started it first." Cathy grimaced. "I call it tit-for-tat."

"These two kids..." Abbey shook his head helplessly.

Although it may be annoying as a mother, I liked the atmosphere. It's lively and noisy, but we loved each other and feel at home.

I put my arms around Abbey's shoulders and smiled at her.

A faintly familiar scent wafted again, and I looked out the door, which was full of bouquets of sage, thyme and more which would be used for the ceremony, and a garland that had just been woven by Cathy was placed in front of me.

"It's a very special scent." I picked up one of the garlands, which were woven from pink roses, radiant and innocent.

I took it and smelled it, but it wasn't the smell I felt just now.

"What's the smell?" Cathy also picked up one of the wreaths woven from jasmine and smelled it, "Isn't this just the normal jasmine scent?"

She gave me a few more different garlands to smell, none of which were anything special.

"It's probably a special spice prepared by someone outside," Abbey said softly.

Hearing her say that, I didn't care about the scent anymore.

At this time someone outside the door was shouting, "Abbey."

"Good morning, Emma."

This was our neighbour Emma, a 60 years old lady with half of her hair white and a wrinkled face, but she had a kind smile. Emma was a good tailor where Abbey often asked her to make clothes. This time, she also asked her to help Moore make the suit, and she delivered it to the door in person today.

"Brooklyn?"

She was very happy to see me, "It's been a long time, how are you doing?"

"Not bad, dear Emma." I stepped forward and gave her a big hug.

"Oh, why do you look skinnier after getting married." She grabbed my arm and checked out my figure carefully, "Goddess of the moon bless me, I think I didn't make your size bigger. Here, hurry up and try it."

She handed me a yellow tulip-coloured dress and urged me to change it.

"This dress is made of silk satin, and it drapes very well. I even adorned the hem of Brooklyn's dress with pearls, just like the dress she wore at the time..."

Outside, Emma and Abbey had a lively discussion about the tailoring and workmanship of the dress. I took off my T-shirt and jeans and put on the dress. It turned out Emma's technique was great as the dress suited me perfectly.

The same as my bridal dress.

My bridal gown was also tulip-yellow. The well-cut dress was embroidered with pearls, suiting my smooth and delicate skin. When Hale saw me that time, his eyes lit up and hugged me, and whispered in my ear, "My wife is so beautiful." Everyone around clapped and whistled.

And I blushed and lay in Hale's arms, feeling that life would go on like this in the future.

Unfortunately, the moon goddess made a mistake in my marriage.

The phone in the jeans rang at this moment, I took it out and saw Hale's message. He probably reacted to the fact that I hung up the phone without permission last night, and sent a long message, "You bitch......"

I pressed the screen off before reading the message.

I looked at myself in the mirror, and my face was tired and wrinkled compared to when I was looking forward to the future two years ago. A heart was no longer vigorous, only helpless and vicissitudes.

I didn't know when this day would end. I could only pray that the Moon Goddess could love me a little more, and let my life return to peace as soon as possible.
