Shay's POVI waited for my ride to come pick me up at the airport and checked my phone for the time. It was already past 10am so Shawn must have left by now, I really wished I can go to Hawaii with him but unfortunately I cannot be at two places at once. I know he was going through a lot these days already because of the new problems arising in the company, cos I saw that it was all over the news about the prosecution office with a warrant to investigate Shelby. I have no idea what's going on at Falcon Group anymore but I know now that it's bad. Plus, dad pressuring Shawn everyday cos he's the current CEO is just too much for him so I really think that him going on this vacation was a good idea. He needed the break from it all and I swear that when he gets back I will surely make it up to him for not letting me go with him so I can spend some time with Jason. My phone buzzed in my back pocket and I quickly pulled it out and saw that it was a text from an unknown number. With just a qu
Shay's POVThe sunlight visible through the light satin curtains was what woke me up, I smiled while sitting up and then slowly dragged myself out of bed and did my usual morning routine but only this time, I was at Sylvia's place. I slept over yesterday, enlightening her with the main highlights of my day with Jason. I couldn't stop talking about him nor could I even stop myself from thinking about him every few minutes. I keep reminding myself that I'm getting a little carried away with my emotions but can you blame me? My whole life was strictly monitored by my parents that ever since the moment I hit puberty, I was not even allowed to talk to a guy unless they allowed me to. Let alone getting a boyfriend. I even tried the whole low-key relationship thing, and I almost kicked out of the house at 16.This whole relationship thing with Jason, it's both new and exciting to me. I like the feeling of being around him, he makes me feel at ease and also safe. Which is why I've been trying
Shay's POVMy hands continues to tremble by my side as I got out of the cab and made my way inside the house. I quickly wiped away the lone tear that rolled down my cheek and tried to stay calm by doing small breathing exercises. The minute I walked in, the atmosphere suddenly changes. There was a heavy bad tension in the room and the sound of glass shattering on the floor made me jump in surprise. I slowly walked towards the foyer and finally saw my mother standing in front of our butler screaming orders at him. Her appearance was a mess and just by seeing her reaction, I knew straight away that the situation was really bad than I had thought. She swiftly turned around and saw me and her eyes narrowed into slits. I braced myself as she started to walk towards me, and clenched my fists tightly by my side.
Shay's POVDays turned to weeks, and weeks slowly turned to months. No news or update from the people investigating Shawn's case that now, everyone that I know are almost sure that he's really dead. For the past two months, I stopped going to work and just remained in my big empty room and only coming out when it's time to eat or going outside for some fresh air. Dad kept himself busy at work every day trying to run the business on his own now that Shawn is not here anymore. He's also been contacting the detective leading Shawn's missing case and providing all the help that he can just to assist them with anything.Honestly, I think the only reason why he wants them to find Shawn alive so he can return home and handle the mess and chaos he had created ever since the news about him being missing was released o
Shay's POVAround noon, I was informed by one of the maids to meet my father in his study. My father and I have not really had a proper conversation before, so this was the first. I was a bit confused and tried to come up with a few reasons why he suddenly wanted to talk to me today, but most importantly, what does he want to discuss?I walked down the dim lit hallway towards his study and I stopped outside before gently knocking on the door. He called out for me to enter and I opened the door and walked in and saw him sitting in his big leather armchair with a drink in his hand. I sat down on the chair in front of his desk and stared at my entwined hands below me instead of looking at him. The look he always has on his face, intimidates me sometimes."Y
Shay's POVThe next Monday, I finally had the energy to go to work. I woke up early when my alarm started ringing around five thirty and then got ready. Ever since the day that dad and I had talked, I've been busy during the weekend figuring out what to do. If I keep ignoring what dad wanted me to do, then sooner or later he'll find out about my work at Cartwright & Evans and I can't risk that, which is why I have decided to go to work today and resign from there before it gets too complicated. Then, next I'll start packing my stuff in secret and go apartment hunting on Wednesday to get my own place ready when I move out of here. The plan is all set and I'm ready to get started but the only thing that's holding me back, is the thought of Jason. A part of me wants to still go out with him and maybe after I
Shay's POVIt's funny how situations can quickly change in a quick span of time and expect things to happen in a particular way, but then it didn't turn out the way you thought it would be. Your mind could be telling you to stop but your heart is telling you to go on. I guess the reason why I had let that happened this morning was maybe because I had listened to my heart, because today before I even left the house I've been rehearsing everything to say to Jason in my mind. It's weird how a single moment can easily change everything so fast that I went from crying and spilling the truth (Wasn't planning to though) to kissing him and now sitting in his car completely enveloped in silence leaving me sorting out my thoughts alone.I didn't get to resign from work today because the minute we left the rooftop, we t
Jason's POVThere weren't many people inside the café, considering that it was still early in the morning so there weren't many people around and I was glad because of that. I easily spotted him sitting in a far corner alone with his coffee so I made my way towards him. He immediately saw me and was about to stand up to greet me with a handshake but I quickly sat down on the vacant seat in front of him before he had the chance. He awkwardly withdrew his hand and then sat down while facing me with a smile on his face."I'm surprised you wanted to meet this early, Mr. Cartwright. So, what can I help you with?"He took a quick sip of his coffee and it totally gives away how unsettled and nervous he was. I sighed before reaching into my pocket and sli
