4. Who is she!

Stella and Morgan stood by Lucian's bedside, they had had him transferred from their grandma's secret room to one of the guest rooms. Their gazes were unwavering as they monitored every flicker of his unconscious state.

Lucian lay motionless, his vital organs stable but his consciousness was yet to return. It was already a week since his rescue and Grandma Elizabeth's disappearance.

As the two watched over the patient they always created time to find their grandmother, but it was a shock to them when none of the neighbors could recall her at all, they were all clueless each time any of them was asked whether they had seen an old lady around, they didn't have a single recollection of her at all.

As the hours passed by, Stella would meticulously check Lucian's vital signs, her trained medical instincts guiding her every move. Since there were no machines, she would improvise noting any fluctuations in his heart rate and oxygen levels. Morgan, equally dedicated, kept a close watch on Lucian's physical state, gently repositioning him to prevent bedsores and ensure his comfort, he wanted him to wake up soon in case he had a clue of everything that was happening.

Despite the uncertainty looming over Lucian's condition, Stella and Morgan remained steadfast in their resolve to provide him with the best care possible, if not for him then for the sake of their grandmother.

Stella carefully administered traditional medications that their grandma had set aside, her steady hands never faltering as she calculated dosages and monitored their effects on Lucian's body hoping to see a glimmer of consciousness returning him, she was already tired of taking care of him, she had to find something to do because their food stock was already running out quickly.

At times Stella would prepare nutritious food for Lucian, she understood the importance of nourishing his body, even in its unconscious state, to support its natural healing processes.

Their perseverance was put to the test as Lucian's condition remained unchanged, his unconscious state shrouded in mystery despite countless medicines that Stella gave him.

One fateful day, as the sun rose on the horizon, while Morgan was getting ready to go to work, he had taken the duty over the family because their food had already run out out of stock, Lucian stirred. His eyelids fluttered open, his gaze unfocused at first before locking onto Stella and Morgan who were by the bedside watching him.

Lucian seemed astonished to find two unfamiliar figures looking at him, and he immediately sat up ignoring the sharp shooting pain in his head, he was wondering who the hell those shabby-looking people were, but after the recollection of his memory, he could faintly remember the young lady who was watching him all along with an expressionless eyes.

So you are finally awake, Stella spoke dismissively as she walked out of the room leaving behind Lucian and Morgan, she was so tired that her head was almost exploding, she hadn't slept for two weeks now just to take care of Lucian.

A rush of memories flooded Lucian's mind, disjointed images and fragments of everything that had happened before he was shot by his friend came swirling together in a chaotic dance.

He remembered the accident, the screech of tires, the blinding flash of pain, the gunshots, a wolf-like animal carrying him by the tunny, and then... darkness. How long had he been unconscious? Hours? Days? Weeks?

Remembering the bite Lucian immediately pulled his top up just to confirm that he was not hallucinating about it, and sure enough he found his scarless, not even a single scar resulting from the gunshots or the bite mark.

Lucian tried to speak, but his throat felt dry and scratchy, his vocal cords protesting against disuse. He managed a hoarse whisper, barely audible even to his ears.

"What... happened to me, and why are there no scars on my body, and what about the bite mark on my stomach?"

This was one of the questions that Morgan too sought answers to, the whole healing process of Lucian's body was insane, rapid, and inhumane.

Morgan ignored the question and instead took a glass of water at the bedside and passed it to Lucian so that at least he could moisten the cords.

Normally Morgan is not the talkative kind of person who would just talk to a stranger whom he was but familiar with at all, and if by chance they were supposed to converse then it was supposed to be him to ask Lucian about his grandma's whereabouts.

"Hey, I just asked you a question!" The rude and arrogant Lucian was back, and it only annoyed Morgan of how ungrateful he was, he hadn't even said a simple thank you get he was already booing with his questions.

"Look here, I don't care who you are and what you do, and am the one who is supposed to be asking you questions not the other way round, as of what happened to you or your body you can ask yourself later on but here is the thing, where is my grandma, and why does she have to disappear immediately after helping you."

"Who are you?"

Morgan spoke with a straight face his eyes never faltering even for once surprising Lucian.

It seems like these two people really don't know who I am and what I am capable of doing to them, Lucian thought to himself as an evil smirk formed at the corners of his mouth, but at the same he didn't understand a thing of what this young man, who seemed two of three years younger than him was talking about.

"You... I am talking to y..."

Morgan was not yet done with reprimanding Lucian as he had thought that he had been ignored when he felt himself suspended on the air, his windpipes squeezed with strong arms chocking him.

"Young man, you should trust me when I tell you am not just someone that you can use that tone on, don't force me to break your bones this instant," Lucian spoke with gritted teeth as he exerted more pressure causing foam to form around Morgan's corners of the mouth, his eyes had already turned white due to lack of breathe, Lucian was not going to entertain the young man anymore.

Just then the door opened as Stella who was bringing in breakfast walked in, and just then the flask in her hand dropped when she saw the sight before her.

"Stop!"

"Stop it Lucian!"Stella commanded not sure of how she had known of his name, that was the only name that came to her mind when she saw the sight before her.

Lucian, whose mind was I don't know where immediately stopped in his actions making Morgan to fall to the ground, his arm started trembling, he could not explain of what had happened, the only thing that he had felt was a clear echoing sound in his mind that had an impact on his brain functioning.

Lucian stared at Stella with a new light, this would be the first time that someone had changed his mind over something otherwise he was sure he would have ended up killing the young guy, but one thing was in his mind though, why did his mind listen to her at all?

"Who is she!"
