Unexpected Realisations.

Millie sat with Katie for an hour; she didn't want to leave and have the little girl wake up to find she was alone. She looked out of the window so she could keep an eye on what was happening on the patio. Nick and Gabe looked very relaxed right now. They had what she called their working faces on, laughing at the questions, making silly comments and almost flirting with the stupid girls. They never really showed their true selves to anyone except her and each other. Millie realized that she was in a privileged position knowing this.

She watched as Gabriel ran his hands through his hair, pulling it back. He was like a girl with his hair, always messing about with it. Millie smiled. She knew him well enough now to know that when he did this, he was nervous or anxious. It was evident that he couldn't wait to get away from these girls.
