Chapter 10

Mrs. Leng\'s voice sounded harsh and frightened. She rushed over in a panic and saw a series of blisters on Quinn\'s arm.

However, Quinn didn\'t feel the same. He still stood upright and unbothered.

William was already furious, pointing at the gate and shouting like a crazy person, \"Come on, kick this rebellious son out for me!\"

The butler hurried in with someone and looked at Quinn with embarrassment.

He had watched the young master grow up. Of course, he knew his bad temper all too well, but knew that deep down, he was very soft-hearted and would never embarrass other people.

Sure enough, Quinn saw the embarrassed look of the people around him, and then looked at his mother\'s red eyes. He couldn\'t bear it, he turned his eyes away in silence and sauntered toward the door.

Mrs. Leng trembled, looking at her son\'s straight retreating back, it felt as if he would never come back to this home again.

She hurried to follow while hearing William still constantly accusing her son from behind her.

\"Since you are no longer a member of the Leng family, what qualifications do you have to take care of our family\'s affairs? Sell your own shares and never come back! You are not my son!\"

Quinn heard this sentence clearly and paused but didn\'t look back. He then walked quickly toward the door, leaving William alone in the living room still yelling.

Mrs. Leng hurriedly caught up with Quinn, grabbed the hem of his shirt and forced him to stop.

\"Are you hurt?\" she asked, her voice pooling with concern.

Quinn was shocked. He didn\'t expect that his mother would be concerned about him.

Mrs. Leng quickly took his hand and looked at him carefully.

The woman\'s eyes were reddish and filled with distress as she looked at the series of blisters on her son\'s arms. \"Oh, my dear Quinn.\"

She caught a glimpse of the bandage on Quinn\'s body.

The woman\'s beautiful eyes suddenly widened as she asked, \"What happened?\"

Quinn\'s body stiffened as he reflexively tried to hide it.

It\'s been a long time since he felt this warmth. He instinctively wanted to avoid her, but she held him tighter.

\"I\'m fine,\" Quinn said, trying to pull out his arm.

He can bear the harshness of his father but not the tenderness of his mother.

Mrs. Leng quickly remembered something, her tone was full of worry, \"It\'s those creditors, isn\'t it?\"

Quinn\'s eyelids twitched and his whole body stiffened for a few seconds.

How could his mother know that he was in debt? Could it be that Xia also instructed those people to harass his family over his debts?

But before he could ask, Mrs. Leng shed tears in the next second and pulled him in his arms, and said, \"I don\'t know who you\'ve offended to have such debt, but Quinn, I\'m sorry for being such an incompetent mother.

\"The creditors actually came to the door the other day and I originally wanted to let your dad help you pay off the debt but he refused. He had to make clear his resentment toward you. Unless you come to him personally to apologize, then he wouldn\'t recognize you as his son...\"

When Quinn heard this, he couldn\'t understand anything. Clearly, his mother had spoken ill to him the last time they met.

  \"Mom, you...\"

Mrs. Leng didn\'t need him to finish, she already understood what Quinn wanted to ask.

She wiped her tears and patted the back of Quinn\'s hand, \"You are my son, how can I not know my own son? Quinn, mom was just so mad that time. I know you wouldn\'t have anything to do with Calvin. I never believed it.\"

Quinn paused for a while as things that Calvin had done to him so many nights before suddenly flashed in his mind.

He unconsciously averted his gaze, not daring to look directly into his mother\'s eyes.

He wanted to tell her that at the time she told him those hurtful words, his world had already shattered into a million pieces, but he couldn\'t say anything about it now.

Quinn silently withdrew his arm from his mother\'s grasp and forced himself to calm down, \"I have something else to do. I have to go now.\"

Mrs. Leng was not too willing to let her son go as tears started forming in her eyes, but she could only watch her son move in the opposite direction.

She only felt that her heart was about to break as she stared at Quinn\'s determined retreating back.

Quinn came out of the house with almost a blank brain and walked onto the brightly lit road.

His phone kept ringing, then would stop and ring again. It was obviously Calvin\'s style.

After a short walk, he finally lost his patience and took out his cell phone to answer the call.

From there came Calvin\'s usual smoky voice, \"Where are you?\"

Quinn nonchalantly answered a name of a random place. There was a short silence before Calvin spoke again, \"Are you back at the Leng\'s house?\"

Quinn was startled, he wasn\'t expecting for Calvin to know his whereabouts.

\"Wait there, I will ask the driver to pick you up,\" Calvin said.

Quinn didn\'t answer and hung up the phone.

He stood there for a while before turning around to find a shopping mall. He found a hidden place and carefully removed the gauze from his body.

The wound hasn\'t healed yet but Quinn didn\'t care. He put on his clothes in a flash and went out to wait for the car on the side of the road.

Standing on the side of the road, Quinn saw that the car that came to pick him up turned out to be Calvin\'s private car. He instinctively raised his eyebrows, a little surprised.

He didn\'t expect Calvin to come pick him up himself.
