Chapter 9

With her last words, the sound of her high-heeled shoes rushed out of the ward.

Quinn lay down with his eyes closed. He was actually not as plain as he seemed on the surface, but after so many years, he has become accustomed to suppressing the endless emotions in his heart.

Because he learned that once he showed anger in front of the enemy, the enemy would laugh at him.

Blue veins suddenly appeared on the back of his white hand as he squeezed the quilt tightly, and soon, he calmed down.

The nurse quickly unclamped the extension tubing of the IV bag from Quinn. He then insisted on leaving the hospital. The hospital asked him to sign a few agreements and let him go.

He drove straight to the old house of the Leng family. He walked hurriedly, the T-shirt on his body seemed to have become more loose over the past few days.

The door bell rang and the butler who came to open the door was stunned when he saw that it was Quinn.

\"Young Master?\" the butler greeted hesitantly.

He nodded as a greeting and walked straight in.

Pushing open the door of the living room, Quinn walked in with a calm face, just to see William Leng pouring tea with a teapot.

He walked a few steps, and the butler just followed him and ran over as he wiped his sweaty forehead.

\"Master, the young master is back...\"

William\'s face did not smile. The butler\'s hand suddenly stopped wiping his cold sweat and instinctively knew that something was wrong.

Sure enough, the next second, he heard William\'s deep voice.

  \"Get out.\"

He didn\'t even look at Quinn, his mouth was tightly pressed and his face was displeased.

Quinn just stood there and didn\'t move. He stared at William silently for a while before walking to the couch in front of him and sitting down.

\"Congratulations, Mr. Leng. I heard that Calvin invested 30 million yuan in your new project,\" his voice was full of sarcasm and there was no respect in his eyes.

William\'s hand that was holding the teapot couldn\'t help but tremble causing the tea to spill out and splashing on Quinn\'s pants.

It was hot but Quinn didn\'t say a word, even his expression was unchanged.

William quickly put down the teapot and instinctively glanced at Quinn\'s leg.

The person sitting opposite him had bright lips. He couldn\'t help but look back at how Quinn was once such an excellent son, then he inevitably remembered the confrontation at the wedding banquet that day.

Thinking that his son would be shameless with a man, William really felt that he was about to suffocate.

But no matter how much he asked Calvin about him and Quinn, the other party just kept silent. Calvin just immediately sent a lawyer over to arrange the investment matters.

William sat in the office for a long time holding the check sent by the lawyer.

He finally compromised the career he had worked hard for in his lifetime.

But he didn\'t expect that Quinn was already so rebellious. He was smug and mocking as soon as he came and didn\'t even mention anything. Even regarding the relationship between him and Calvin, he didn\'t even bother to explain them.

William couldn\'t help but sigh a long sigh. He pointed at the door, his voice was hoarse, \"Get out. I don\'t have a son.\"

Quinn was still sitting, and every word William said to him was no different from that of a sharp blade.

He was silent for a long time before he sneered.

\"My sister passed away and you didn\'t care about it. Even her ashes were tossed aside into Calvin\'s house and you wouldn\'t claim it. William, I\'m afraid you don\'t care at all whether I recognize you as my father or not, right?\"

William was stunned. His eyes were fixed on Quinn\'s eyes and all the sadness in his eyes could be seen.

  His heart suddenly ached.

\"Your sister... it was her own scandal. If we had said something then, it would\'ve only added fuel to the fire and—\"

When Quinn heard this, he couldn\'t stand it anymore and interrupted William\'s words directly.

\"So just because you didn\'t want to offend the Lu family, you didn\'t bother finding out the truth? She was your daughter!\" he screamed through gritted teeth as he clenched his fists tightly, his eyes glaring at William.

\"William, I can tolerate your indifference, but how could you give up even the last bit of your dignity? How could you still beg for mercy from your enemies without blinking at this point?\" Quinn said without any hesitation. At last, he looked at the man\'s trembling face and almost wanted to stop.

But these emotions have been piling up in his heart for so many years.

William\'s eyes widened as he stared at Quinn in a daze.

He didn\'t expect that these years, Quinn had such an idea.

When Quinn\'s mother heard the commotion, she ran down the stairs in a hurry and asked angrily, \"Why are you back?\"

As soon as she saw William\'s face, she knew that Quinn must have said something he shouldn\'t have said, so she rushed all the way down to protect her son.

Calvin\'s words had really hit William where it hurt the most, but he couldn\'t even say a rebuttal. He became so angry that he simply picked up the teacup on the table and hurled it toward Quinn.

Seeing his mother rushing over in a hurry, Quinn\'s eyelids twitched as he tried to clasp the tea cup that flew over with one hand, and the hot water splashed all over him.

  \"Quinn!\"
