"You'll help me?", I gaped at her, widening my eyes when she offered to help me in the kitchen. It had been a while since we settled down everything and I came to the kitchen to prepare dinner for us.

"Yeah, until the cook arrives. And you used to cook for two. It was easy. So, I thought—", she stood next to me in front of the counter and placed her palms over it, scanning everything placed on the counter.

"Is that the only reason?", I focused back on the stove while placing a pot with water to prepare rice. And I had many things to cook today. Most of the time, I survived only eating rice and eggs and Zoya managed with the pickles that Mrs. Sharma used to arrange for her after she finished eating one batch.
