Abrar
Dada and dadi must be at home, right?", Nikhat said after finishing the glass of water. She looked tired as if she came here after a hectic time. She might be looking for work.
"Yeah. They just came two days ago", I smiled at her.
"I won't take much time and try to leave as soon as possible", she said in a guilty tone.
"Don't say like this. Be comfortable", I mumbled. I was looking for words to make her feel better but at that moment, I had to be careful with my words.
"I don't want them to see me here", she said. Her eyes were still darted on her lap and she was hesitating to speak.
"They are not angry with you. It's fine", I forced a smile though I was being honest.
"Actually, Abrar the thing is—", she strived to say while looking at me.
"Nikhat", dadi spoke from behind as my eyes widened and I looked back. She was standing there with Zoya. I gritted my teeth at her.
"I told her to come alone", I grumble
Abrar"So, when will I be able to unfold the mystery?", I raised my eyebrows when she was laughing."When I want to", she folded her lips at me with a very familiar smile."Okay", I chuckled back and lowered my head."Annoyed?", she asked."Aha!", I shook my head."Really?", she frowned, her voice filled with sarcasm."Yeah. People never get annoyed by mysteries. The more they try to find out the mystery, the more they start diving into it", I looked at her. Her eyes were already on me. Our eyes connected. I didn't know if she felt anything whenever our eyes met. But I did feel a lot.It was true that her mysterious behavior was the first thing to captivate me in her invisible shackles which I chose for myself. She talked less, she showed less but her effect on me was more than I could ever imagine."And if the mystery brings out the worst?", she leaned back to the wall, nibbling her bottom lips and tilting her hea
AbrarI didn't know what I was expecting from her. To be jealous? To be insecure? To ask me to stay away from Nikhat?Forget about being jealous. She was ready to play the cupid in my life with another girl. Anger filled inside me for her suddenly and I tried my best to hide it."That's not the case. I'm more concerned about her career right now. There's no way I would go back to the relationship", I told her strictly. I was giving her damn hints that I was not in my past anymore. I was not into Nikhat anymore. Why couldn't she just grab the hint? She acted like she was the most sensible girl on the earth. But she was blind to see my growing feelings for her."Because she is not a virgin anymore?", she giggled in disgust flashed inside me and I stood up in wrath."You think I have a cheap mentality?", I shrugged off."I'm kidding. Why do you get serious while talking about her?", her eyes popped out and she gawked at my sudden r
AbrarMy eyes opened with the view of Zoya, dressing up in front of the mirror. I rubbed my eyes and yawned, stretching my arms. I tried not to look at her but it rarely happened when I got to see her first in the morning. She had worn a sky blue salwar suit with silver-colored big earrings, dangling on her neck. I kept staring at her until I recalled everything that happened last night. She was combing her hair when our eyes accidentally met.She stopped combing and froze, looking at me with her smoky eyes. I was waiting for the day to start with her howl. However, to my surprise, she looked away from me and focused on her makeup instead. I let out a yawn and got up, wondering how she woke up so early. She never woke up early if I didn't call her. Peeking at her repeatedly, I collected my clothes and came out of the room to go to the washroom. My eyes went to the dining table which was arranged with breakfast. Whenever my grandparents visited us, I never
AbrarI took a few seconds before absorbing what she said. She was busy with the coffee and her phone."Are you sure?", I asked to be completely sure before I could say anything."Yeah. But unfortunately, she'll have a complicated post. Like she'll have to travel a lot inside the city", Zoya didn't look at me while speaking, her eyes were darted on the phone. However, her single statement gave me a lot of relief."I'll talk to her about it", I chirped as she lifted her head and passed me a casual smile."I have asked Mr. Sahani to call her. Her contact details were in the records. He'll discuss with her about it", she added and looked back at the phone."Thanks a lot, Zoya", I said."You always tried to do whatever I wanted. So, why can't I do something for you?", her lips stretched into a beautiful smile. I was staring at her without knowing she could notice me."Well, Mr. Zafar, you shouldn't stare at me right n
Abrar"You're waiting for the car?", I asked as I reached the gate. She was waiting there."No. I'm coming with you. Hire a cab", she said. I got a bit confused."Why are you looking at me like this? Go and hire a cab fast. I'll melt in this scorching sun", she covered her face with the stole."Okay", I immediately crossed the road to hire a cab.*"Congratulations! You deserved it", Mr. Ali grabbed my shoulder. "I wanted to promote you a long ago. But told me to leave it on Mr. Sahani"Our eyes went to Sahani. He smiled at me."So that the decision didn't look biased. See, now everyone is happy for you", he beamed.I rolled my eyes around. The entire staff was present there while clapping and smiling at me. I looked at Zoya. She was holding my arm, just for the formality. But her smile wasn't there to show off. I knew it well. Not even the blush which I witnessed this morning. I felt butterflies in my stomach when I recal
AbrarIt took me quite a long time to complete all the work for that day. I left the office at 9 and came to the exit when I found Zoya standing near a black car, leaning against it. She was on her phone."Hey, you're still here?", I exclaimed. It was surprising because Zoya never waited for me, nor I did. We finished our work and went back home at different times. She looked up at me and passed a smile. "I just came out and thought to wait for you", she scanned my face well. "Tired?""Too much", I chuckled at her.She laughed with me but suddenly her reactions started to change and she touched the temple of her forehead when her eyes were shutting down."Zoya", I immediately gripped her arms when I saw her unstable condition. Her head fell on my chest abruptly. "Are you okay?", I wrapped my hands around her and panicked."Yeah", she mumbled. "My head is— just spinning"She could manage to say. I held her tightly in my ar
"Zoya, just wait for a minute. I—", I strived to say."Abrar, will talk later", Nikhat said."Sure", I cut the call and rushed to Zoya."Which one?"She scowled at me."It's done. You were too late. I did it", she shrugged off."Sorry. Now, is it comfortable", I asked as she turned around."Yeah", she smiled."How's your health now? You were too tired yesterday. I thought you would stay at home today", I told her."Well, now I have important things to do in the office and I can't sit at home. Let's go", she grabbed her purse and walked out of the room and I followed her.*"Good morning, Sir", I abruptly stood up from the chair and greeted Mr. Ali when he came to my cabin. "You could have called me. I would come to your cabin""Good morning. And it's alright. How's everything going on?", he asked, sitting on the opposite side and rolling his eyes around."Better than I expected, Si
AbrarI gaped at her in confusion. However, she looked really stressed out. She clutched her fists tightly and kept standing there. I didn't know what she tried to mean with those words. I walked towards her and held her shoulders, making her sit on the chair, and I leaned against the table, standing in front of her. She was looking down. Her body was still shaking."You want some water?", I asked but she rejected it by shaking her head."You want", I said and took a water bottle, opened it, and held it in front of her mouth. She glanced at me for once but didn't refuse to take it.She took a few sips and placed it on the table, letting out a big sigh."Better?", I asked and she nodded. Then I brought another chair beside her.She was looking everywhere but at me, locking her fingers together and twisting them in the disturbance. I remained silent for a while, only noticing her reactions. We were just a few inches apart. She wa
