“I tried to wake up early but yet, here you are, the very first,” a voice said as Asher was training with the punching bag. He turned and saw Anita in her training gear walking up to him and he gifted her a smile. “Let me guess, you have already had a run round the woods.”
Grinning he answered, “thrice.”“No fair,” she groaned, “do you ever sleep?” she asked, walking over to the spear rack and picked up two, tossing one at him which he caught effortlessly. “Let’s have a spar, perhaps I stand a chance at winning now because you are obviously tired.”Asher chuckled and twirled the spear in his hand before he beckoned her to come over which she did with force but he easily evaded her attack. She tried again and again but never succeeded in landing a blow at him and he wasn’t attacking, just defending. She turned to him, panting and wiping off the sweat on her face before attacking again. “Too fast,” he said, “slow down your pace, stalk and then attack,” he pointed out, easily avoiding her attack again.Anita groaned in frustration, “I wanted to spar with you, not you to train me and give pointers,” she rolled her eyes.“Oh, okay,” Asher smiled, “then I will attack,” and with that, he dashed at her at an unbelievable speed that she couldn’t even see him coming and in a less than a second, he had her pinned on the ground with his spear on her neck, “I win.”Anita rolled her eyes and slapped the spear away before raising her hand to him to help her up which he did. “You didn’t have to attack like you were fighting an enemy.”“A spar means giving your all obviously, otherwise, how will I show that I am stronger?”“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” she said just as other people started arriving at the training ground.“Good morning, future High alpha. Good morning, Anita,” everyone was greeting as they walked past them.“Good morning, Asher, Good morning, Anita,” a tall boy that looked like the second version of Sean with his deep brown hair and brown eyes greeted, shaking hands with Asher.“Good morning, Micah, how was your night?” Asher asked.Micah nodded and turned to the other wolves, “alright everyone, let’s go for a run and then we will have a little spar. How does that sound?”“Awesome, future alpha,” they all said and Micah nodded.“Anita, you joining?” he asked.“I didn’t join Asher for a run so I guess I should,” and with that, she dropped her spear and punched Asher on the shoulder before joining the rest in a run while Micah followed behind them, making sure no one was lagging behind.Asher watched them leave and sighed. Picking up Anita’s spear, he took it to the rack where he placed his as well and with a glance around, he teleported out of the training ground. He appeared in a much grander room than the one he woke up in earlier. There was a king size bed in the middle of the room and everything was off great quality. The walls were of a darker color and there were a few touches of gold here and there. He walked over a door and opened it to reveal a large room-sized closet. Half of the room was covered in clothing for different function and the other half was for shoes and casual wears. He picked up a towel and undressed before walking out of the room to an equally large sized bathroom with a tub big enough to accommodate four people. He went straight to the shower cubicle and after taking a shower, he found himself lazing around his room with nothing to do. After walking around, looking for something to interest him and finding not, he teleported from the room, appearing in the kitchen and causing the maids there to shriek on seeing him.“Prince Asher, you are back,” one of them said when the shock died off.“Mm,” he answered, walking over to the sizzling pots to see what was cooking for breakfast. “Have you seen my mother today?”“No, your highness, the queen has not graced us with her presence this morning,” a young demon answered and nodding, Asher walked out of the kitchen into the garden. With each passing day, he was finding it more and more difficult to find something to pass his time with it. Everything is perfect, everywhere is calm and peaceful and he can go to any pack he wants. The visit may be impromptu but no one would dare tell him off rather they would do their best to be a good host. While he would notice envy in some future alphas, no one dares to speak to his face and sometimes he always laze around to join them for training, seeking something of interest but he always end up pinning even the strongest future alpha in less then five seconds. Even the alphas find it hard keeping up with him. The only opponent he has was his father but it’s not all the time that the man wants to spar with him.Life was good but, in his case, it was too good that it has become boring. He longs for something, something that would pique his interest and give him a new vigor or just something to pass his time with but as the future High Alpha of the Night Howlers, he was greatly respected. As the prince of the Demons, he was greatly respected and as the second generation of the Nightwalkers, he is respected as the High Chiefs, so there was not a single place he goes that he wasn’t known as someone important and the ladies throwing themselves at his feet. Even the human women are no exception for his beauty as being a nightwalker always lure them to him. In this case, his life was perfect for any spectator but him.***In the human realm high school, students clustered around, chatting and laughing with their peers and friends, all but one. She was dressed in a baggy jeans and oversized hoodie, she had on a big round glasses and she hugged her books on her chest with her head lowered as she tried to pass by the chatting students without being noticed.“Hey, psychic, any news for us today?” a boy yelled as she passed, bringing others attention to her and right at that moment, she wished the ground would open up and swallow her.“Oh, that’s true, I am going out today with friends, is there something you have to tell me? Is there something I should avoid?” a girl ask, her voice so innocent and curious but one look at her hazel eyes said otherwise. The girl grabbed her book tighter and hurried her footsteps to get her into the school, away from the prying eyes. Once in the enclosed walls, she closed her eyes and breathed out before marching over to the lockers. As she was imputing her code, someone bumped into her and she zoned out immediately. She saw a boy trying to cross the road and because he had his eyes buried in his phone, he didn’t see the lorry coming at a high speed and he was smashed into pieces.“Oh my God, I’m so sorry,” a male voice apologized behind her and she turned only to see in shock that it was the boy in her mind right now. “I didn’t see you there,” he smiled, showing off beautiful set of teeth. The girl nodded, watching him as he walked off. She was torn between stopping him and letting him go but at the end, she forced herself to turn back to her locker. She was at it when the first bell rang and she grabbed her textbook and walked over to her first class. She stood aside, watching as the boy was crossing the road, the lorry was coming at highspeed and she was screaming at the top of her lungs, trying to get him to look but he couldn’t see nor hear her and no one was seeing her as well and she watched as the lorry smashed him brutally. She jolted awake to realize that she was still in class, her teacher was teaching in front of the class and she glanced around, no one seemed to be paying attention to her and some students were secretly pressing their phones in the class. She could remember that it was the last period of the day and just the thought of going home made her wish she can drag the time back to morning. She was still wondering what her evening would look like when she heard a heart wrenching scream and turned to see one of the popular girls in school covering her mouth as she stared at her phone.“Stacy, is there a reason you had to shout like that?” the teacher asked, annoyed.“I’m sorry Ms. Miller but it’s the news,” Stacy said, standing up. It was obvious that she was shaking and the boy beside took her phone from her before she dropped it.“What is it, George?” Ms. Miller asked seeing that boy was now in shock too.“It’s Jeremy,” he said, looking up from the phone, “he was smashed into pieces by a Lorry this afternoon,” he revealed and everyone screamed. Everyone but the girl who closed her eyes and breathed softly.‘He will answer to his destiny and that is to be my son. One day, just one day!’ Asher felt the heart wrenching pain in his chest and he screamed and sat up on the bed. He was panting heavily and sweat caked on his forehead and drenched his back. He sniffled and glanced around; he was in his room in his father’s palace. Everywhere was dead silent and he wiped his hands on his face, breathing heavily. He pushed the covers aside and climbed out of the bed. As always, he walked over to the window and stared at the moon before he went over to his closet and put on his running attires, jumping out of the window. He hasn’t gone far from the palace when he sensed someone behind him and stopped. He glanced around, there was no one around but he knew someone was there. After some seconds, he sighed and said, “good morning, dad.”Edward chuckled and suddenly materialized in front of him. “Can’t sleep?”“Dad, I have told you to stop doing that. I hate it when you are always around me but I can’t
Chapter three“Naomi!” a voice yelled and the girl lying on the bed trembled. She slowly got up as she heard the heavy footsteps on the creaking stairs and soon after, her door was thrown up and a big man with busy beard stood in front of it. His hazel eyes were staring at her angrily and she curled on her bed, using the bedcovers to cover herself. “Why is there no food waiting for me?” he thundered, his voice very loud that it sent a shiver down her spine.“There was nothing in the house. I told you in the morning when I was leaving for school but you chased me away. I haven’t even had anything to eat all day,” she replied in a trembling voice.“And how is that my business?” he asked, storming towards her that she was sinking in the bed, hoping that the covers would protect her from his wrath. However, he yanked the covers away and grabbed her by the hair, pulling her out of the bed as she screamed. “I don’t care if you have never had anything to eat but you have to find me something
“Prince Asher, its nice of you to visit us,” Malachi said with a smile upon seeing the young man in the courtroom. “How have you been?”“Very well, Chief Malachi, and you?” Asher asked, following the man softly as he led him to a seat.“Very good,” Malachi replied, sitting next to him. “Is there a particular reason for your visit?”“Nope, not at all. I heard from my father that you are having a little party in the council and I decided to invite myself, I hope that is not bad?”“Of course not, you are welcome here anytime, any day.”“Thank you. And yes, you should know that Anita is with me, the Blue Moon’s pack alpha’s daughter.”“Sean’s daughter is welcome anytime,” Malachi smiled and then stood up, “I shall have your rooms prepared,” then he frowned slightly, “and find someone to make dinner for you.”“Oh don’t worry about me, I am sure I will be filled in the party, as for Anita, she had something before coming.”“Then, it is settled,” Malachi smiled, “please, enjoy your stay with
“So, how was it?” Anita asked as she stood beside Asher, watching the partying nightwalkers.Asher chuckled, “thought you didn’t want to hear about it?”“Well, I would rather listen to it than have you be as silent as you are. We both know you are dying to tell me about it so get on with it.”Asher laughed softly before saying, “you should know that it was not as magical as I had hoped.”Anita glanced at him in shock, “pray tell, what happened? You seemed pretty smitten with her.”“Yeah,” he sighed and brought his goblet of blood to his lips. The vampires are finding it hard to let go of their origin, even the party was like the ball held in Victorian times, exactly like the parties his father throws every single year and he found himself not really looking forward to this year’s own. “She is inexperienced and you know how hard I find it being with inexperienced women. I don’t have the time to be telling anyone to stay this way and that way, so I lied that I came when she did for the
Asher was struck, he has met a lot of human women in his life and have even allowed himself to bed a few during the times Anita dragged him to their realm but never, absolutely never have he felt a form of connection with any of them. And now staring at that dancing but not dancing teenager, he couldn’t help but want to know her. He could feel it deep inside him that she was hiding something, something big and maybe sad. He stood watching them dance, the boy with her was cute, good looking even with his messy blonde hair and he kept running his hand all over her. He didn’t need to be told for he can see that the boy really wants to do more than dance with her, it was very clear in his green eyes.He watched as the boy spun her around once more but he shocked him this time by leaning over and kissing her lips. Immediately, Asher had a growl and turned around to know who had followed him but there was no one and it was then that he realized that the growling had come from him? He was sh
Naomi took an involuntary step back as she took in the size of the wolf. The animal was taller than her, how can they be a wolf taller than a human? Yes, she has never seen a wolf in her life but she had seen movies and even the drawings of them she had seen were never this big. She gulped, the slivery white fur of the animal glistening with the moonlight and right there, even with her fear, only one word appeared in her mind: Beautiful.Yes, the animal was beautiful, the silver fur and the red eyes, right under the moonlight was like a painting, a beautiful painting from the forest. She gulped, her fear momentarily forgotten as she stared at those blood red eyes. She wasn’t moving and the animal wasn’t either and she tried to hold her breath, trying to capture this very moment in her memory even if she ended up becoming food for it. However, despite her thought, she could feel it deep in her bones that it won’t hurt her. Just like she knew it wouldn’t hurt her when she was only sensi
A black shadow suddenly jumped out of the woods and landed on her, she screamed and covered her eyes, anticipating the pain she knew would come. But waited she did and nothing happened and when she opened her eyes, she saw a big sliver fur wolf attacking the shadow. When the man’s corpse was lying on the dirty forest floor, the sliver wolf walked up to her, its red eyes glowing under the moonlight and just then, its mouth moved and it said, “Naomi, wake up.” She stared at it, not believing that it actually spoke but it suddenly lifted its gigantic paw and tapped her head, “wake up I said.”And with that, she opened her eyes to see that she was in her classroom, sitting up, she came face to face with a beautiful set of green eyes and curly blonde hair. The owner of the eyes smiled, “you were really passed out.”Naomi glanced around to see that the classroom was already empty except for her and Justin and she gulped and tucked her pitch-black hair behind her ear. “I’m sorry, I was just
Everyone stopped talking when they noticed the two people walk into the school. They weren’t in any expensive ride but their dressing —black leather jackets and blank pants with black boots— made them very conspicuous and not to mention their unmatched looks. The boy was tall, like very tall and the girl beside him was only tall up to his shoulders. His very black hair was in in slicked back with a few strands let loose and his deep blue eyes stared at them like he could see their souls. The girl’s red wavy hair was very bright like blood and her slightly round face gave her a little baby look but her deep brown eyes spoke of her experience. They were a strange pair and looked so otherworldly but despite that fact didn’t change the aura that sips from them. While the girl gave up a warrior feeling plus a feminine beauty, the boy seemed to have this magnet that pulls people to him and despite the hidden fear in his aura, they couldn’t stop themselves from wanting to get closer to him.
