Chapter 3

Celia POV

"Where are you going?"

A deep, menacing voice sounded, sending chills down my spine.

Even though my back was turned to the man, I recognized the voice instantly.

It was Alpha Leon!

That was alright. I had prepared for this moment.

I turned around to face Leon, sticking out my tongue and stammering, "Who are you? I don't know you!"

Leon froze, his grip loosening momentarily.

I purposely put bright eye shadow and lipstick on my face, so that he wouldn't recognize me.

I continued, "You must be Alpha Leon, right? You've got the wrong person! You should go to the front door to pick up your Luna! She's waiting for you!"

Leon narrowed his eyes, his gaze icy. The corner of his thin lips curled into a mocking smile.

"You don't know me? Then why do you have my mark on the back of your neck?"

I was stunned.

When had he marked me?

Leon's deep eyes seemed to read my thoughts.

He said, "I marked you during the mating ceremony that night."

I ground my teeth.

"Alpha Leon, let's be clear about this situation. I know you don't want me as your Luna. You merely need a Luna in name for some undisclosed reason. Am I right?"

I looked at him.

Leon remained silent, neither confirming nor denying.

I smiled, "Here's the deal. My elder sister, Jocelyn, is very willing to be your Luna. She's prettier than me, and she has a better figure. Take her back! You won't regret it!"

Leon narrowed his eyes, his voice dripping with irony.

"I marked you, so you are my Luna."

I furrowed my brow. "It's easy. Just remove the mark!"

Leon was a little impatient. "The mark of the werewolf cannot be undone."

"Then find a solution!" I retorted.

"There is no solution!" He said, his tone unwavering.

"Oh, I see…"

I signed, paused, and then pointed behind him. "Alpha Leon, look behind you!"

Leon narrowed his eyes, and his lips pursed.

In the next moment, as I attempted to flee, Leon seized me by the back of my neck once more, lifting me effortlessly, and carried me away.

I kicked my legs desperately, but it was futile.

Leon took me outside and threw me into the car.

Then, he dialed a number, and Calvin appeared at the doorway.

After a brief conversation, Calvin's expression turned serious, and he walked out of the mansion.

Seeing this, Sarah, who had been smug moments before, rushed after him, asking, "Beta Calvin, my daughter is still inside waiting! Where are you going?"

"My Alpha has personally taken his Luna," Calvin looked at Sarah and said.

Sarah was in disbelief.

"What? That's impossible! My daughter is still inside the house!"

Calvin furrowed his brows.

"Jocelyn? You might be mistaken. Alpha Leon's Luna is not Jocelyn."

With that, Calvin walked past Sarah.

Sarah froze, her face pale.

The gathered relatives and friends began murmuring.

Zander, who had been surrounded and flattered by relatives just moments ago, had become the object of ridicule.

"Turns out it was a farce!"

His face contorted with rage, he lashed out at Sarah, who had planned the lavish banquet.

"Sarah! What on earth is going on? Didn't you say Alpha Leon chose Jocelyn as his Luna?"

Sarah looked pale.

"I don't know how this happened! Beta Calvin came that day and said Alpha Leon wanted to marry our daughter! He even brought the gifts..."

Zander stormed towards Sarah, giving her a harsh slap.

"I didn't allow you to arrange things without clarifying! You've tarnished the reputation of our Dark Moon pack!"

Jocelyn, hearing the commotion, came out of her room in her wedding gown and asked, "Dad, Mom! What's going on? Where's my Alpha Leon?"

"Jocelyn, Alpha Leon's Beta just said it was a mistake! And, Alpha Leon has already taken his Luna back!" Sarah cried out.

Jocelyn's face turned pale.

"What? Mom! How could you make such a mistake? Alpha Leon chose me his Luna! You said it!"

Sarah, covering her face, said, "Jocelyn, don't blame your father! I really don't know what to do now…"

The relatives began mocking them openly.

"Jocelyn, stop daydreaming! A noble man like Alpha Leon would never marry a wolfless woman like you!"

"I was wondering, how could you become Alpha Leon's Luna? So it's all in your head! I can't believe you're throwing such a big party. It's embarrassing!"

"Jocelyn, stop fantasizing about becoming Alpha Leon's Luna!"

Unable to bear the mockery of the relatives, Jocelyn shot Sarah a resentful glare and hurried back into her room.

I sat in the car and witnessed it.

Soon, the car started. I arrived at the villa of the Black Mist pack.

Leon asked a few maids over.

"Get her a new dress."

I was about to run away again when he pulled me back.

Leon's voice, as deep as a cello, resonated in my ears.

"Cooperate with me, and you will be fine. I promise."

I gritted my teeth.

"Fine, I'll cooperate with you. I kissed you first, so I should pay the price. But, Alpha Leon, I have to tell you that I lost my wolf when I was 19, so I'll never feel anything for you."

A vague tingling sensation came from deep inside me.

I sniffled, "So, how long do I have to cooperate with you? Once the time is up, we'll go our separate ways. I will leave, and you can choose another woman to be your Luna."

Leon's voice turned icy.

"Three months."

"Deal."

I reached out, shaking Leon's hand.

Leon POV

The maids took Celia to the cloakroom.

I went to the study for a while to take care of pack's business.

After a while, the maid told me that Celia had been sent to my bedroom, so I returned to it.

She turned her back to me and leaned back on the bed.

"Get up, there's no need to pretend," I said, my voice cold.

Still, she remained motionless.

I approached her, the dim, warm light casting a gentle glow on her fair face.

Her eyelashes were long, her cheeks were pink, and her expression was serene and innocent.

A small droplet of saliva glistened at the corner of her mouth.

Was she really asleep?

Suddenly, her balance gave way, and she began to tip sideways. Without thinking, I reached out and caught her, preventing her from falling onto the floor.

Even in her unconscious state, she seemed to resist my touch, her body stiffening momentarily before relaxing again.

Gazing at her as she lay in my arms, I found myself strangely captivated by her vulnerability.

It was the first time I had seen Celia's face, and there was an unexpected beauty.

Suddenly, a voice appeared in my brain.

"Mate!"

It was my wolf.

I looked at Celia in my arms in shock and disbelief.

Was she my mate?

As if sensing me, Celia suddenly opened her eyes, wide with shock, and realized she was in my arms, our faces inches apart.

"What are you doing?" Her voice was filled with warning. "Don't touch me!"

I couldn't help but be drawn to her. Then, I narrowed my eyes and said, "You have to fulfill your duties as my Luna and mate with me..."
