Evelyn's pov

After a while, the doctors were able to stabilize my father and his heart finally returned back to its natural position. My body felt as if it had been hanging in my throat all this time while I was worried about him and what also surprised me was how Kian just suddenly disappeared. He told me that he had to make a very important phone call.

I remained the in the waiting room sitting on the cold metallic bench the doctors told me that I would not be able to see my father today so I was waiting for him to return so we could both go back to the pack house as he did I notice that his charming smile had slipped a little bit it wasn't too obvious he was still firmly latching it onto his face but I noticed that he didn't carry it with the same Charisma as he had before when he left as if something was bothering him.
