*Omario POV*We are preparing to visit the families of the dead elders when Rufus arrives. I can tell from his expression that it’s not good news. Taking a stroll in the garden to get away from eavesdroppers and my mate, he quietly follows. I stop right in the middle. “Speak.”“The vision is now clear, Your Highness.”I already guessed that it was about that. “Proceed.”“It is not good news, My Lord.”“I have gathered that much. I need to know.”“Very soon, you will be faced with a difficult choice. The kingdom for your mate and heir.”My heart sinks, Abi might not approve but it’s a clear choice for me. He reads through me and proceeds. “It’s not that easy and clear, Your Highness. You will also have to choose between your heir and your mate.”“No!”“I am sorry, Your Highness.”“I can not make that choice, ever.” I am saying this more to myself than to Rufus. He sighs and looks away from me. A cold chill goes down my spine. This can’t be good.“What?”I still need to know as mu
*Omario POV*I know when Duncan leads me to the secure study that whatever this royal visitor has to say must be really serious and sensitive.“Alpha Omario,”Luna Sarah of the Palmland pack bows respectfully the moment I walk in. “To what do I owe this visit?”She will have to forgive my lack of hospitality. I really don’t have the patience nor the time. My mate is in excruciating pain, I should be by her side. She must have read my mind because she immediately explains herself. “I am sorry to arrive unannounced, but this is urgent. Clement and that seductress you exchanged your father’s horses for are coming to overthrow you.”I can feel her anger when she utters the seductress. My curiosity is already piqued. The Clement she is referring to is famously known as Alpha C of the Palmland pack. He was dad’s friend, that’s why I had suggested he gave him the horses when he wanted them killed. Those are the same horses Terrence bought back a few months back in exchange for Olivia. “Al
*Omario POV*“We need the pup to keep Omario in check. Cut it out, give it to me and kill her,” Alpha C instructs while I am on my knees begging for them to spare my mate. Him and Olivia have been this back and forth trying to come up with the best way to kill Abi while keeping themselves safe. Olivia shakes her head. “If I do that, then she will shift into that fire monster. You were there when she killed everyone in a flash. She has to die before the pup is born or we are as good as dead.”Alpha C sighs. “You are right. What can I do without you?”Olivia giggles and sticks her tongue down the old man’s throat. It’s a disgusting sight but the least of my worries right now. My mate is groaning with labour pains while her life hangs by a thread. “How about I will kill her and quickly cut out the pup before it dies?” she suggests. I have to agree that is the best strategy for them, but really deadly for Abi. She won’t shift and risk killing our pup, but that hands her right into ene
*Omario POV*Rufus keeps my eyes open. Alpha C’s face is priceless when Dire’s razor sharp teeth sink into his neck. His lifeless body is thrown into the floor like the useless piece of garbage he was. Olivia’s wolf must have deemed the scene too much to witness because she is now in her human form. I don’t feel the least sympathetic as she holds her chest and screams in horror as the disgusting stolen bond fades. “His Highness is slipping away. I can’t hold him back anymore!” It is the first time I hear Rufus so distressed. I guess the prophet really did love me. Dire growls at Olivia, who shrinks and trembles. Shaking his head, he shifts, hurries towards me and kneels in front of me. “Leave his eyes alone,” Terrence commands. “He will surely die!” Rufus cries but Terrence laughs at him. “No, he won’t.” He sounds so certain but I am not so pessimistic. “Unless he is an idiot, then he will,” he adds. I guess the time away has not done much to change his cocky attitude. “Liste
*Omario POV*A day later, Luna Sarah bids us farewell to return to her pack. She and my mother have had very long conversations. Our warriors will accompany her all the way. With the sceptre on her hand and determination to make her pack better, I have no doubt that she will just be fine. The whole nation is fussing about our pup, I don’t know how many times I have seen his name on ships, billboards and television adverts. Having Terrence, Duncan and Loyd around has made my job so much easier. I get to spend a lot of time with my mate and pup, knowing that everything is taken care off. Abi is also thrilled to have mother back. The two of them spend hours giggling, it warms my heart to see them so happy. Two months later, mother and Terrence’s pup is born and my cocky friend is now worse and insists on being addressed as father Alpha. I have accepted it because in reality, he is the ultimate Alpha and I am thrilled that our people have accepted him just like we have. Abi, Mother an
*Abi POV*It’s seven o’clock in the evening when I dash out of the castle and run towards the wood as fast as my feet can carry me. Each week I am faster than the week before, but it’s still futile. They are faster with better vision at night than me. They also have much more endurance. There is a limit a human form can take, maybe one day when I get my wolf I will be as fast. They always give me a ten minutes head start but it’s really not much when being chased by wolves. I can hear them howl and growl when I pass the ten kilometres mark. Last week I was caught just after the eight kilometres, I am definitely faster. Ten more kilometres without collapsing, then I can escape this hell. This for me is practise to improve my speed and endurance but it is a game for Alpha Theo and his friends. They get to hunt me down every week and sharpen their skills before presenting me to the prophet who will read my deepest thoughts, no matter how intricate or embarrassing. I get lashes for every
*Abi POV*Susan holds my head and Chloe holds my legs and quietly take me out of Prophet Rufus’ guest room. I try not to wince as they bang me against the walls all the way to Omario’s chambers. Every servant here still secretly treat me like a princess and do their best to help me when no one is looking, except these two. They are the same age as me but they both have been to Blake’s bed. It took them weeks to heal from whatever Blake did to them. I and other servants did all their work until they were ready to come out. They have subsequently been through the rest of Alpha Theo’s friends. I understand their anger but it seems to be directed at me, not the Alpha and his despicable friends. It’s as if they resent me for not having been through the same experience. Omario’s claim has made things worse. Brenda must have noticed this too. It would explain why she’s been specifically choosing them to take me out every Friday. Two weeks ago they were stopped by Terrence from tossing me in
*Omario POV*It’s Friday night again. My father’s freak show is starting. Him and his disgusting okes are about to chase a helpless, wolves-less servant, who apparently, will be the end of him. I can’t freakin’ wait for that moment. It all sounds ridiculous, dad is literally indestructible while she is… just a girl. History has proven a lot of people wrong though. Little boys have destroyed giants and a tiny ant has killed a mighty elephant. I bet the prophecy will come to pass and the servant girl, Abigail of the Lilly town creek pack, will destroy the mighty Alpha Theo. I hear the howling and head to Rufus’ room. The idiots are even celebrating catching up to the girl. They think it’s hunting, like they used to when they were rogues. They don’t get that they are making her stronger and resilient each time. They don’t even see that she outsmarts them too. They really panic when she froths her mouth and shakes her body and think she actually has a convulsion. It’s the same when she h
