In the dimly lit room, Sophia felt a surge of relief, the newborn's first cries echoed. With a sigh, she placed the second baby on the mother's chest, Patricia looked exhausted as sweat and tears trickled down her cheeks—they had used regional anesthesia, keeping her awake and aware but not feeling any pain from the lower region.
