Elena released a deep breath, "Sophia can you forgive, Alex?" she finally asked after a while, the air between them stilled as Sophia's gauging eyes peered at her. The room turned silent—and they both said nothing.

Nearly ten seconds later, Sophia let out a low, breathy laugh, her lips pulling into a little smile. "What did he do that deserves forgiveness?" she asked, trying as much as she could to be calm.
