"Hey! Watch where you're going, Geek!" He yelled at Chrissie. His deep black hair was only a few inches long, framing his sharply defined face.

It was the straw. Camel, meet straw.

My patience had run out, and the way he was talking to Chrissie made me snap. I walked up to him, getting right in his face. He was the one who hit her! He should apologize! My face turned red in anger.

"Why don't you make us?!" I shot him a cold glare which he happily returned.

"Or you can just move out of my way, dumbass." His voice was flat, cold, and hard. It was emotionless as if he could care less that he just hit someone with a door or that he was getting yelled at. It was infuriating.

"Or you can drop act, drop to your knees, pick up her stuff, and apologize like a decent human being!" I returned his cold flat voice and stare. I just glared at him, and he stared back at me. I broke our eye contact to look down at Chris. She was trying to crawl through the crowd to grab her papers that were being kicked around. I moved to help her when he spoke again.

"Now, why the hell would I do that? It would ruin the show for everyone else." He snorted and walked away, stepping on her math homework as he went. What's his damage?!

As soon as he became a part of the crowd, I quickly dropped to my knees to help her pick up her papers. Unfortunately, the essay she worked on for hours was a lost cause until she got her hands on some tape.

"Oh no!!" She whined as she saw her essay on the ground, ripped, with a few footprints on it.

"Here," I fished through my backpack until I pulled out my essay and offered it to her. "Just change my name on the top to yours, and you can just turn it in instead. I am sure I can talk the teacher into letting me turn one in tomorrow. She is the only teacher who actually likes me." I smiled and pushed the paper towards her. She thought about it and then slowly reached out to grab my essay. I placed it in her hand, and she returned the smile.

"I got to go, or I might be late." She readjusted her pile of destroyed papers, turned, and skipped, yes literally skipped down the hall to her biology class.

I plastered a forced smile on my face, shut my locker, and walked to class.

I sat just as the bell rang. The teacher walked in and scanned the room. My seat was in the back, and I do mean the far back. Do you know how boring math class is when you already know how to do it?

"Okay class, take out yesterday's homework and pass it to the front. . ." The door swung open, and a boy with the same hair, the same jacket, the same eyes, the same evil smirk, and the same face was standing in the entrance. The girls in the class started whispering, and his smirk grew bigger.

"Ah, you must be our new student. Jessie, is it?" The teacher was even smiling at him. He gave a quick nod and walked past her to the back of the classroom. He took a desk two seats over from me. Normally, I was the only one who sat in this row, but it seemed that was all going to change.

Throughout the rest of the class, I would glance his way, then look quickly away. I mean, why my class? He has proven that he is a bully, he'll probably try to make me do his homework or copy off of me.

A paper landed on my desk, and I picked it up and read it.

‘Do you have a problem with me, or do you just like what you see?’

My reply was small, easy, and simple.

‘You're a jerk.’ I folded it back up nicely and threw it at Jessie when the teacher turned around to face the board.

He smirked again as he wrote his reply.

‘Aw, did I hurt the little girl's feelings?’

I laughed to myself as I came up with a reply, and I could see the confusion on his face as he saw me chuckle to myself.

‘How did you hurt your own feelings? . . . . Did you look in the mirror?!’

He looked like he was about to laugh at my lame comeback, and I do admit that it was awful but in a bad dad joke kind of way.

‘You know that was so bad, it was almost funny’.

‘Glad you liked it. The whole reason I got out of bed this morning was to make you laugh.’

‘You see this, I don't even know your name, and yet, you are already trying to please me.’

If I had eaten breakfast this morning, I would have just lost it.

‘Get lost!’

This time I crumpled up the paper and threw it at his head. It hit him square in the side of the face. He just glared at me before picking up the ball of paper from the floor and reading it.

‘You'll hear from me again. Don't worry, love.’

He tried to straighten the paper before folding it nicely again.

‘I don't want to hear from you again, and I won't worry.’

I went to throw the paper at him, but the bell rang, and he got up and left. I wanted so badly to throw it away, but I'm sure Chrissie would be entertained by reading it next hour.

I shoved it in my pocket and walked out of the classroom into the crowd, letting it push me right up to my locker like a fish in a stream.
