Chapter One

RAVEN'S P.O.V

The thunderstorm kept making loud noises and I concluded that this was in fact the most horrible day of my life. The event was starting in two hours but it was raining cats and... The door flew open revealing my father's grumpy face.

What a grumpy day it is! I rolled my eyes as I turned away from the window to meet his eyes.

"You have two hours to prepare for the event and you dare to sit there like it's nothing to worry about!!" His voice pounded against the soft gray walls of my room but I held my head up with a smirk on my face.

"Thirty minutes is enough for me to get ready for the event, you need not worry about petty things like this..."

"You are a girl and it..."

"I'm a girl that doesn't mean all girls take eternity to get ready for an event!" My voice came out with a range of anger I didn't expect but then again all I could do was speak back but every inch of my body wanted to beat the pulp out of this man before me.

"Don't you dare speak to me like that young mur..." I raised an eyebrow and he stopped midway before he turned away and left.

I felt the urge to cry but I couldn't do that. It would only portray that I was weak but Father made it so difficult to even live talkless of the rest of the pack.

Ever had that feeling where something keeps growing within you but you have absolutely no idea what the hell it is? Yes! That's how I feel right now.

"Raven!!" The energy that radiated in the house felt so different upon hearing my name and I knew exactly who it was. Without hesitating I picked a little dress and my bag.

I heard a loud bang against the floor and I knew it was my door that literally just went to the floor without any hesitation. I jumped off the balcony and held on to a tree branch before hitting the floor and running through the woods.

His eyes burn holes in my back as I run as fast as I can. I might be the daughter of a Beta and I grew up upon my father's brutality and learned how to be strong on my own but the twins were a pain I didn't know how to handle.

"Curse the day you were born, Raven!" Julian's voice could still be heard though I was far enough for him not to chase after me.

The day I was born was already cursed long before he even said that my mother had passed on my fifth birthday and I was always blamed for if I hadn't been so stupid the chandelier wouldn't have dropped on her and she would still be here.

"That's one hell of a run." my fist was already mid-air ready to punch. "... Woah! Calm the hell down tigress!" George chuckled even when he knew that he was a few minutes away from actually being dead.

"How many times have I told you never to sneak up on me like that?!" I yelled but he still kept laughing knowing I barely care about that. Moreover it wasn't the first time I was actually getting punched because of that.

Unconsciously I began to laugh because his laugh was really contagious and to be honest that was the reason we started talking.

"Are you nervous?" He asked with a serious face as the laughter died down.

"For the event? Yes I am but about my wolf not really. I spent all my life waiting for him and I hope he likes me when he sees me." he grabbed my hands and put them against each other

"I believe that whoever your mate is, he is going to love you for you because you are special in your own way and if he doesn't,well... I believe I can do that heavenly duty." I pushed him away as he laughed.

"You are unbelievable! But regardless of what happens I will just have to accept my faith as I have no choice actually."

"Unless..."

"Marrying you is never going to be an option, George." He placed his hands against his chest with his mouth open with an expression that seemed so unbelievable and it made me burst into laughter.

"I will act as though I did not just get violated by you. Good day." He snapped his fingers and began walking away then he stopped"... Won't you ask for my forgiveness?"

"Why should I?" His expression was literally priceless but then again I actually wanted him to go without actually feeling offended.

"That does it! See you at the festival." I laughed as he walked away.

#Easy girl it's going to be fine#

A voice whispered in my head and I was certain that wasn't my inner thought which made a sudden sense of get to me as this was so unusual.

I shook my head and went deep into the forest towards a certain hunt I found weeks ago and to be honest it has helped me a lot. My sight sense began to build up massively which made me even more confused but I chose to ignore it.

I walked into the hunt and my heart stopped as I saw Enzo sitting with a cigarette against his lips and a devilish smile against his face. Without thinking twice I turned around to run away but I bumped into a wall or rather a person and felt hard on the floor.

"Please let me..." I trailed off when I saw that it was Julian.

"Let you what? Run away? Come on little pirate Enzo isn't scary, right Enzo?" He looked up to his twin brother with a smile I knew too well and I shut my eyes trying to build the courage within me.

"Let go of me Julian." My voice was stern and he looked at me for a few minutes and let me stand up but his voice stopped me.

"An hour, Little pirate. Just an hour left." I shut the door as my mind played tricks with me based on what he had said. Something was going to happen but at the same time I couldn't afford to miss the event.

It was literally ten minutes to the event but I was yet to leave my room because I was worried due to Julian's words. They knew something I didn't and it killed every part of me not to know that.

Shutting my eyes, I took a deep breath and picked a black knee lengthened tight dress. It was the mating ceremony tonight. Where unmated werewolves are meant to find their mates if they are up to age and if you don't you try the next year.

I turned twenty last year when I was meant to shift into my wolf but to my greatest surprise I didn't and it felt so embarrassing but what hurts was how since that day no one ever saw me the same again except George.

Being fully dressed I pulled my hair into a ponytail and wore my heels before heading towards the elevator that led directly to the back of the mansion where it is held but when the door opened I met eyes with the twins and I wanted to go back but Enzo pulled me in.

"Just a few minutes more Little pirate and you'll be the happiest wo... Human to live here" I could barely breathe as he spoke into my ear.

The event has actually started and I felt every natural sense in me heightened and the voice in my head came again but this time it felt so beautiful then I realized it was my wolf but as soon as the door opened I met with silence and a trail of blood on the green grass.

The looks I received from people were already so suspicious and I tried not to panic because I didn't know what was going on and the blood was... I trailed off as my nose caught a beautiful scent and I knew that was my mate but when I followed it to my greatest terror I realized it was the twins.

"No... This must be..."

"Surprise Little pirate but hold on..." He grabbed me so tight in a way that I couldn't escape while giving me a weird yet frightening smile.

"I'm not..."

"Hush Little pirate, now you shouldn't be so sad after you've gotten all you ever wanted but I have to say we were also shocked last year when we knew so we waited and realized it wouldn't be bad to give you a perfect gift on this day." He turned me towards Enzo who stood with a box that was as tall as him.

"Welcome mate." He opened the box like a door and a body dropped, scaring t he shit right out of me but the scent of the blood hit me so hard and realization as well.
