Chapter 4: Seraphina

Seraphina's POV

On my bed, Alister’s head lay nestled between Lyla’s naked thighs as Lyla clung to the top of the headboard to hold herself in one place. Her breasts bounced from the ferocity that Alister was licking her pussy. They were on our bed. Alister was with another woman on our FUCKING BED!

"A-Alister!" I yelled as I bit back the tears that began forming. Alister jolted off Lyla in Supernatural speed towards me as Lyla shrieked and attempted to cover her naked breasts with a pillow.

As Alister whipped around, his face was as pale as he had seen a ghost. He placed his hands out as if he were attempting to tame a wild animal. A low growl escaped me as he invaded my personal space. His erection was clear in the tight black slacks he was wearing.

"Seraphina, you’re home early," Alister’s face was filled with conflicting emotions.

"You tell me! Is this what your business is? Is this why you had to leave? Is this the errand you had to run?" I yelled as tears streamed down my face.

"Seraphina, just calm down. It’s not what it looks like," he pleaded.

I scoffed. “Oh, so you weren’t just tongue fucking another woman in OUR bed?!”

Alister got in my face and gripped my shoulders so tight that I winced. “Lower your fucking voice. We don’t need the entire packhouse hearing this…” he paused. “Misunderstanding.”

At that moment, I saw red and completely lost my mind. “MISUNDERSTANDING?!” I screamed.

“ENOUGH!” Allister pressed out his Beta aura, making me snap out of my rage. Regardless that I was the Alpha’s daughter, Allister was still above me in rank and could make me submit.

Alya retreated into my mind as she submitted to our husband. But I wouldn’t go down that easily. I stood tall and craned my neck up so I could meet his eyes. Alister was a good ten inches taller. I pushed my pointer finger at his chest.

“You dared to not only break your vows to me as my husband but also had the balls to be unfaithful in our bed. How do you do you expect me to respond to this, Alister?” My voice was rough with anger.

“Don’t forget Seraphina that YOU had your father arrange our marriage. You were the one who asked for this.” I had my father arrange our marriage after being informed I was to marry the ruthless Alpha Callan Forte of the Night Walker Pack. I wouldn’t allow myself to be subject to Callan’s ruthlessness especially after…the incident that I refused to think about.. Allister has been kind and gentle with me. The complete opposite of who I was to marry.

“I didn’t ask you to cheat on me, Allister! You don’t do that to your wife,” I sobbed.

"Seraphina, please, enough. Stop this now!" He held my arms and put me at arm's reach.

I looked around Allister to see Lyla put on a red form-fitting dress. I glared and pointed at her. “And YOU! How could you fool around with my husband?"

"Seraphina, I'm so sorry, but this is all a misunderstanding. Please, we're just good friends; there's nothing more," Lyla walked over to me and reached out to touch my shoulder, but I shrugged her off and took a step back from the pair.

When Alister saw that, he immediately got upset: "What the hell are you doing, Seraphina?”

My body felt numb as I heard him speak. I knew better. I looked at the two and spoke very calmly:“Lyla, I think you have done enough damage for the night. Please leave.” Without a word, Lyla listened to me. I couldn’t help but notice Allister's wanting stare as Lyla walked out of the room.

“Just tell me why. Do you love her?”

Allister licked his lower lip and sniffed. “Like she said, we are friends.”

“Friends don’t just do that if there aren’t feelings involved,” I argued.

He looked at me with such anger that I took a step back. “Why do you even care? It’s not like we ever do anything.” It wasn’t a question.

I looked at him stunned. “Well, maybe if you were actually around and made time for me, you would see a willing and wanting wife!”

Hurt is shown in Allister’s eyes for the briefest of moments. How could he be hurt when he was the one who made it impossible for us to be a real couple? He didn’t respond. After a pregnant pause, I looked down at the floor and then back up to the man who I thought I was falling for.

I looked into his eyes and mustered all the courage I could. “You and I are done.” Allister pinched his brows together.

“You can’t divorce me!” Allister bellowed before smacking me across the face, the force making me fall to the floor. The impact of the hit made my teeth rattle. I clutched my cheek and looked up at the man whom I thought I loved.

“Watch me!” I gritted out.

"Don't you think you're being a bit harsh? We can't divorce. Not like this! Seraphina please," His voice softened as if he didn’t just hit me. He went to help me up before I swatted his hand away.

“Don’t touch me.” I rubbed my cheek that was still stinging before standing up.

"We are going to see the lawyer tomorrow,” I suppressed the urge to cry again but the tears kept falling anyway.

"Seraphina this……" he trailed off. “We can fix this. We can fix us.”

“That’s the thing. There was never really an us,” I frowned.

“You never cared to know about you. I tried for us to work, Alister. I really tried but at the end of the day, there’s only so much I could do. You do not love me. Hell, I’m not sure you even liked me. I should never have asked you to marry me. It was a mistake. We married for convenience and necessity, not for love.”

I walked over to the wardrobe and pulled out some blankets and threw them at Allister. “I’m going to take a shower. Change the sheets and be gone by the time I get out.”
