33: Cafe in the Past

“casu in praeteritum”, I read, looking at the cursive signage outside of the cafe. I got out of the car while he looked for a parking slot. I strolled along the premises and landed outside the shop that was filled with people. The line wasn’t that long but looking from the outside, I could tell that there were a lot of people inside already. “Ano? You like it?” Dan pops out beside me and I look up at him with a smile, “depends on how strong the coffee will be, pero I like the aesthetic” we both chuckle and go on the line. I got some of my things, my tab with the keyboard, my notebooks, and some materials. I didn’t bring a book. I stood beside my table earlier thinking whether to bring one or not but for some reason, it felt like it was wrong to bring one. ‘Maybe Brye’s habits are rubbing on me too much’, I sigh at my thoughts and wait for our turn to get in.
