Ch14 He's Hiding Something

It took about 45 minutes to get to Lawrenceburg by car. Grey seemed like he had something on his mind but he wasn’t saying much of anything. Willa moved closer to him in the car and grabbed his hand.

“Is something on your mind? Did I do something wrong back at your family’s home to upset you?” she asked him.

“Oh no! You were perfect and they loved you! I knew that they would. Mother would like it if I brought you around some more. I just have a work issue that I am trying to figure out. It has absolutely nothing to do with you.” He lied about the last part. He couldn’t bring himself to tell her the truth just yet. He didn’t want to lose her when they had just gotten started. Everything was going as planned and he had never felt like this before. It was as if he was falling harder for her the more time they spent together.
