52. He Put A Ring On It

As Dominic utters the words, "I want you as my wife," Elizabeth feels a flicker of sincerity in his eyes. However, her past experiences with Tristan, who had deceived her with false promises of marriage, leave her skeptical and guarded.

The wounds of betrayal are still fresh, she struggles to trust this new man who stands before her.

Dominic, aware of Elizabeth's apprehension, acknowledges the suddenness of his proposal. He suggests that she take time to consider their situation, understanding that trust cannot be easily regained. Yet, he asserts his possessiveness, declaring her as his woman and urging her to internalize this fact.

Elizabeth's response is a cold look, unsure whether his words are meant to taunt her or serve as a reminder of her place in his life.
