Alicia's POV:

As I gradually awoke, I noticed that everything had returned to a state of calm. The urge to get out of bed was strong, but a firm hand kept me in place.

My vision was hazy, and a distant voice reached my ears.

"You need to stay still. Moving will open the wound again," Ramirez cautioned, and I obediently settled back into the bed.

I clutched my throbbing head, my memory slowly returning. I recalled arguing with my mate, Ramirez, defending him passionately before collapsing to the floor. That was where my recollection ended. The last thing I remembered was thinking about Kael.

"Where are Kael and Leo?" I inquired, my tone filled with concern, while Ramirez appeared hesitant to respond to my question. His reluctance sent shivers down my spine because I remembered the warning about Kael possibly turning into the beast.
