Moonlit Dominion: She-Wolf Ascendant

As I came across her

The werewolves are having a festival downside the enormous hill.

And here I sit alone, in front of a mythic cave above the hill top. And watch them happily dance surrounding the fire wearing their traditional wolf coats. Some of them are sitting, lying on the tables at the corner of the field, drinking and eating till their stomach is almost tearing apart. And some of them are having a mischievous fight beside the huge barbecue stake of different animals meat, maybe their fight is due to who would get the biggest chunk.

And for some reason I'm not joining these seemingly contented people. I'm just trying to figure out all the different combination of emotions I'm feeling and having troubles deciding whether I should stick to my core or just let my emotions take me over. I know I have lots of responsibilities due to my status, I just don't have anyone who can guide me about that. Yesterday Alpha Vincent, the mighty Blood Moon pack leader, visited our pack and had a small talk with my father. Yeah, my father is the lead Alpha of our pack Crescent Moon, Alpha Jonathan. The talk didn't seem so promising, it was just a powerful collusion of their pheromones. I wish I gathered the courage to ask father what their talk was about, but the thing isn't like that.

It's four days before the full moon.

Suddenly a loud clamouring sound breaks the band music of the festival, instead there are confused voices and low howling. A teen girl is standing in middle of the field, around her are all the werewolves from our pack, and she's definitely not from our pack, the red moon mark on her arm is certainly confirming that. I quickly jump from the hill to catch up to them, there's a chance that things can go downhill.

"Andy, what's happening?" I ask a friend who seems almost sober, we're same age.

"Not sure, this girl just arrived," he shakes his head, eyeing the situation wearily. "Most of us are drunk as fuck now, things might not go well since outsiders have been crawling in our territory recently. Ya should call up someone from the leading team, like your eldest brother. Well maybe I'm worrying for nothing."

I honestly didn't wanna do that. Even though I'm an Alpha, most of the wolves from our pack wouldn't consider me as one, I'm well aware of the gossips and whispers. But there's a burning sensation in my nerves which keeps telling me that I gotta change myself sooner or later, to something greater and stronger.

I step forward, pushing the people in front of me to make ways. Most of them are huge and bulky, but they're not in their senses right now. The girl is standing despite the crowd around her and I can't guess a single thing about what she's seeking for from her expressions.

"What ya doin' here, little bloody moon kid?" Aldoph asks hastily, trying hard to keep his balance on the he ground. He's one of the strongest Beta in our pack, rumors say once his ancestors ruled the whole kingdom, along with humans.

Apparently the girl doesn't answer with anything, it's not like sign of disrespect or anything, but she just keeps standing there. Is she looking for someone here?

"Wait, let me handle this," I put up a hand ahead around the girl, it's not a great idea to let this girl lingering here anymore.

Obviously if they were sober they'd not let me step into this matter, but thanks to the festival I got away with it. I indicate the girl to follow me silently, to a less illuminated place.

"I don't assume that you're dumb, Miss," I blurt out once we're away from the crowd, in front of the central forest. The tree brunches are vaguely lighting up from the campfire and the moonlight.

She looks up to me, staring.

God. She's beautiful. Not that type beautiful which would catch everyone's eyes from afar. It's that kinda beauty when you look close up to them and the tiniest hint of expression expresses their nature. She has bright, sparkling doe eyes with highlighted double lids, her reddish black hair is kept in a loose bun, making her more attractive in a simple white dress. A body which has begun blossoming with modest height and curves, her dominant scent hitting my senses, overall it's an ethereal sight to me, under the moonlit night.

"I was looking for you, Alpha Lorenzo," she speaks, a soft yet swift voice.

I'm startled. "But why?"

"It's kind of a long story. Do you want to continue while standing like this?"

"Well, I don't mind." Even though she's very pretty and doesn't seem harmful, I can't trust a wolf who isn't from our pack.

She chuckles softly. "I see. My name is Nyx, by the way."

What a lovely name.

"As you can see, I'm from the Blood Moon pack. And my father is the leader of the pack," a slight hint of disgust shows in her eyes when she mentioned his name. "Actually I'm not in a situation to broadly elaborate what do I want from you, but I'm allowed to say that directly."

"I'm confused. What's that you want from me, Miss Vincent?"

"I want you to be my mate."
