Chapter 25 - A scolding
Zelena.
“Where the fuck were you? I told you to stay next to her the entire time. Was that really so fucking difficult?” Gunner’s angry voice filled the entire office, bouncing off the walls and reverberating back through my ears.
Roe sat in the matching chair next to me, her hands placed in her lap and her head bowed down in shame. Felix stood between the two chairs with his shoulders held firm and high, but his head bowed, and hands clasped behind his back. Gunner has been raging now for nearly twenty minutes. First at Felix, then his mum, he gave me a few stern words and is now back to screaming at Felix.
“I told you, I fucking told you that more would come for her. But no! You had to leave the village, you just had to go shopping”.

Zelena.A few hours later I sat on the porch swing looking over the village, the sun has disappeared behind the trees and the summer air was thick with anticipation. Set up for the party tomorrow night was well underway. Some big brawly pack members were nearly done building what looked like a raised platform or stage, and long picnic tables were being laid out in rows before it. Zelena.I stabbed my fork into the piece of steak and swirled it around my plate, stirring it through the thick gravy. The dinner table was full of chatter about the upcoming celebration, excitement was buzzing through the air. This is going to be the biggest ascension ceremony that Tri-Moon has ever seen. Lunaya.We turned off the highway and onto a dirt road at the Trout Point Lodge sign. This was the beginning of the Lua Chei pack borders. We drove much slower along the gravely road, with the sun hidden behind the tall trees and the roughness of the road, it was way too dangerous to maintain our previous speed. After only five minutes on the track a flash of something dark darting past the window caught my attention. Lunaya.Just as I lifted my feet to relax, a knock sounded at the door. I stood up and walked over, opening the door to find a teenage boy with our backpacks.“Hello, I’m Akela. “I hope you don’t mind, but we have arranged a set menu for tonight” Astéri called out as she stood up in her seat beside Elaine. We smiled, nodded and agreed without hesitation and then a line of waiters walked through the doors, each holding three dishes. They placed them on the table in front of each of us and the smell attacked my nose, leaving me salivating. I have no idea what it is, but I can’t wait to eat it, holy shit does it smell good. After each person had a plate, the waiters left and Astéri waved her arms.“Please, dig in”.I didn’t hesitate and picked up a small round ball and plopped it in my mouth. Lunaya.I snapped my eyes to Elaine, as Beta this proposition was all her call. A scurry of thoughts berated my brain. She will never agree to this, Luna Eclipse are too secretive. She has to agree, it’s our only way to find her. This would never work, Hina would hate this idea.“Agreed” Elaine said standing up and taking Astéri’s forearm.My mouth hit the floor. I thought it would take a hell of a lot longer for her to agree than that, or that she would need to consult Hina or something. Relief washed though me and I smiled to Alyse. But wait, Astéri just threw this offer out there so quickly, did she discuss it with her daughter at all or is she just being throw to the wolves. Literally. How could she be ok with leaving her family and her home to travel halfway across the planet. Also, would she stay there indefinitely or come back again after the alliance is made. I looked up to Analah who was sitting next to her mother.
